Does ResScan offer anything over SleeptHead
Does ResScan offer anything over SleeptHead? Do many on this board use ResScan?

Re: Does ResScan offer anything over SleeptHead
I've used both for a week now. ResScan offers headaches.
More seriously, if you happen to have a ResMed CPAP brick (and I see you don't, so it doesn't apply to you), ResScan will include AHI readings in its overview while Sleepyhead apparently does not find AHI data on the SD card. Otherwise, Sleepyhead is the hands-down winner in my limited use.

Re: Does ResScan offer anything over SleeptHead
I use resscan to print out graphs to discuss with my sleep Nurse, So we can talk about the data from software they recognise. I use sleepyhead to look at how my therapy is going, and change things as necessary I also use resscan to print out any compliancy reports.

Sleepyhead is my preferred choice for the Statistics Page and a far superior layout on the Daily Page, but if and when you need to submit proof of continuing compliance in order to continue getting replacement supplies from a DME, a printed Rescan report is the only way to go. Either that or mailing them your card and getting a blank one in exchange.
Best wishes, Nate

Re: Does ResScan offer anything over SleeptHead
Since ResScan is official medical software, I have used it to give my doc stuff to put in my file to prove my therapy is going well.
But since my therapy has gone well for years, I don't personally use either one. The summary info on the screen of my S9 is enough for my purposes. I look at the AHI maybe once a month, since I feel well-rested every morning.
If I ever were to have any need to troubleshoot in the future, though, I would definitely use software. If ResScan didn't give me enough info to figure things out, I would use SleepyHead. And actually, I don't think my doc would have a problem with me handing him SleepyHead charts. He considers me to be fully in charge of my own therapy. It is my preference for ResScan info to go into my file, since that is what I started with years ago for printed reports.

Here's a tutorial that will show a bit of how ResScan shows the data.
http://montfordhouse.com/cpap/resscan_tutorial/
Visually the data is presented differently but the data is the same.
It's Windows only so that may make the decision for you. I don't use it for day to day whatever. It's slow and that annoys me but I do have it installed mainly for storage just in case my SleepyHead breaks or something.

Well, looks that way to me from my wife's "brick" machine! Sleepyhead reports no AHI data, while ResScan does, from the same SD card:palerider wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 4:06 pmHuh?BlueDragon wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 11:28 am, ResScan will include AHI readings in its overview while Sleepyhead apparently does not find AHI data on the SD card.

Welp, send the data to watkins, and tell him to step up. Since there's no 'fun' data, (flow, etc) he's not cared about it in the past.BlueDragon wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 4:38 pmWell, looks that way to me from my wife's "brick" machine! Re: Does ResScan offer anything over SleeptHead
The brick machines don't do the detailed data files and SleepyHead needs those detailed data files to do the AHI reporting on the bricks.
ResScan gets the AHI with something else and that's why sometimes SH doesn't show any data all when there is at least the generic AHI that the half assed bricks are reporting but ResScan will show at least the half assed data.
It's the same thing that's on the LCD screen.
So ResScan is potentially more useful than SleepyHead if a person has the misfortune to have a half assed brick.

If you love someone, you never let them get stuck with a brick.
