Do you discuss BIPAPs on this site?

Post by atgauthier » Mon May 28, 2018 6:16 am

Good Morning,

Found this group this morning after googling “how to sleep with BIPAP” for my husband. However, seeing how the title of this group is cpaptalk, just wanted to verify before I jump in with all our info and questions. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

We welcome all sleep apnea related discussions. Doesn't matter what machine is used. We have a lot of bipap/bilevel machine users here.

Yes, we discuss all the variations on the CPAP theme and all forms of SDB (sleep disordered breathing).

If CPAP starts being used on a large scale for some other condition (such as asthma or Cystic Fibrosis), then the moderators will amend the rules as needed.

I thought this was a cat forum.

I prefer bilevel and BPAP over BiPAP and VPAP. :P

And you will find “experts” here that don’t completely read posts. But they will offer suggestions. Similar to the first advice one receives from the computer Help Desk: “sir, have you tried turning it off and on again?”

Welcome 🤥

I think poppi2 should turn up his pressure.

After turning his machine off and on.

Those "experts" might benefit from a rebooting. :cough:

Yes, since bipap is, technically, only respironics machines, whereas 'bilevel' takes in all.... bilevel machines.

And I may try to start a movement to call RM CPAP by the name "EPR-PAP" to acknowledge its unique role somewhere between monolevel and bilevel PAP. I would fail. But still.

I chose to switch from using an autobilevel machine to using an APAP with EPR because I like the idea of the EPR-suspend feature during events. In that sense, for 3cm delta, I consider using EPR superior for me to my using bilevel. Hey, just me.
