Resmed P10 Nasal Pillow connection to Airsense Hose?

Post by Scluvsrain » Wed May 02, 2018 3:23 pm

Well, I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I just got a new Resmed Nasal Pillow P10 for Her in the mail this afternoon from my DME. I'm excited to try it out tonight, but when I went to connect it to the hose from my Resmed Airsense 10, it doesn't fit???!!!! The little hose attached to the nasal mask doesn't match up with the machine's hose.

No adapter came with the mask, so I'm perplexed.

Can someone help me out?

The P10 pillows will connect to any cpap hose.
Is there any chance there is still a quick disconnect fitting from your old mask on the end of your hose? If so, it needs to be removed.
The hose should have a rubbery female connector. If there's a tube of hard plastic there, that's a piece from an old mask.

No adapter is needed. I am using the AirSense 10 and the P10...and there is no adapter needed.

Look carefully at the mask end of your long hose and make sure nothing is stuck in there that shouldn't be there.
I suspect a small part from a prior mask came off and got stuck in the long hose. It happens fairly often and people don't realize it shouldn't be there until something doesn't fit.

The P10 is the mask I use and it hooks up with the ResMed tubing heated or not with no issues ..

Well shoot. I understand now. There was the curved little connector from the FX Mirage nasal mask I had. I had tried to pull it off but clearly I wasn’t pulling hard enough. I got it off from the rubber end of the Airsense tubing and voila!!!

Thanks for that picture and explanation. Made all the difference in the world!!

Love you guys!!!
