Hi guys,
27 years old. Have had difficulty with CPAP compliance- have tried for 6 years. Put hair clips in my hair/mask. Do everything to try to put the mask on my face. I've tried a variety of nasal pillow masks- the full face masks have felt way too uncomfortable for me personally.
So, I know that this Inspire Pacemaker exists as a sleep apnea option. https://www.inspiresleep.com/what-is-in ... apy-works/
Has anyone tried this personally? Is this a good idea of any sort? Just curious to hear more about it.
Partly reluctant, not only because I'm continuing to try CPAP- but also because new technologies may come out soon to make this a pointless surgery.

Re: Imagine Pacemaker?
It was discussed several years ago here.
Not everyone can qualify--it is way too expensive for most insurance, and:
Are you ready for this?: it is not compatible with MRI.
And the name is not "Imagine", but Inspire, if you want to do more research.
Probably a good idea to keep the cpap for now . . .
Sorry, buddy. Bad news sucks.

Not nearly to be a useful option. XPAP, however used properly can safe your life, with air.

Re: Imagine Pacemaker?
As others have told you, there are a lot of hurdles to clear and no guarantee that you will finish the race in better shape than when you started. Thus far, I have seen no alternative to xPAP that provides anything close to the same results, let alone better. For many good reasons xPAP continues to be the gold standard for therapy (keep in mind there is no CURE anywhere on the horizon). If you insist on continuing your search, keep in mind as well that the Inspire therapy also has many hurdles to clear before it is well accepted and established. To wit:
