rdbyrne,

What an easy way to do it. Did you use the option to link to an off site location's URL? I never did it that way, but very smart.

By the way, have you ever been told you look like a short haired Steven Segal?

UPDATE

Of the 10 xPAP listings I tracked since the w/e - all 10 got pulled.

the last 2 went in the past 24 hrs.

That was a 100% of what I had located & confirms my experience from last week & many other occasions before.

swift mask

Post by pharmwoman » Wed Mar 15, 2006 5:36 pm

there is one on ebay for buy it now $65, but I am hooked on my breeze despite the issues, but I like to look and see what ebay allows. This person has it listed as swift mask, not cpap:)

i see one for $75 as buy-it now and $35 to start and just medium pillows.

anyway, i think i pm-ed you rather than hitting submit. so now i'll tell everyone that i got a new swift for $65 as buy-it-now on yahoo, and then the woman came back to ebay and sold for $85 as buy-it-now after i told her what to do to not get nuked. she had cpap in her description but not title. i just did it because she seemed nice, and i figured the more sellers, the lower prices would go. i gotta say, the thing came right away and was perfect and new and everything she said. she said she has more of them.

Yesterday I noted 6 new xPAPs on ebay, today 5 have been pulled & I am certain the 6th will go soon.

Again, this tracking is reiterating the eBay 'wipe em out' policy.

Cheers

DSM

PS a warning to anyone looking at xPAP stuff on eBay, there is a lot of garbage been peddled at the moment & I for one am grateful eBay pulls them. The ones that I dislike are when someone lists a pre-2000 model & words it as if it is near new or current. I feel sorry for anyone who gets caught by such deceptive selling.

I don't know if I'm "wrong" or whatever for buying my bipap machine off ebay, but I got my respironics bipap auto with biflex for $830, new in the box. It was a buy it now auction, and I had bought it and paid by paypal before ebay axed the auction, yet I had already paid. The seller was very good, though, and said it happens to him about every other time he lists one on ebay.

I know how good you must feel. I got a Respironics BiPap S/T (latest model) with H/H - both new, under similar conditions

It is still on its way.

I was very happy

Ebay is a bit onerous in protecting us from ourselves.

But I wonder why they allow the manuals to be sold without problem when that is a clear violation of copyright laws.

Copyright violations are also prohibited.

tomjax,

we all agree that this is a nasty problem area, but i'm not sure there's copyright infringement involved here because directions are generally not copyrightable. however, in my opinion, but i am not a lawyer, there are other bases to legally object. but as we have discussed before, it does not appear that anyone here cares enough to do anything about it.

about six months ago, in response to discussions here, i asked one of my law professors whether there was legal basis for complaint. he said probably yes, but your best shots are not in the copyright arena. however, you need someone to legally complain. any one of the many law clinics at law schools around the country might be interested in handling the case at no charge if someone wanted to file a complaint.

until someone does, we're just griping.

that was no pitch for anonymity, just a failed log-in.
