Johnny Goodman - need your attention on this please

Too often lately, registered members have been making PERSONAL ATTACKS UNDER "GUEST".

I DO understand the need for registered users to post under 'Guest", and I am not suggesting that feature be removed.

However there have been many malicious posts by doing this. We do need the former, but not the latter.

Can you please help this forum maintain a standard of civility.

What we may need is a method of capturing those comments, with corresponding ISP, and reporting them, for action to be taken.

I noticed that New Members must agree to a Code of Conduct. This is perfect!
Maybe current, registered users need to review that also?

why don't you just PM forumadmin or admins?

But since you posted it in public: There sure is a striking resemblance between your post above and the other one from Registered User that caused all the ruckus, note the sign off line, if you are the author, seems you may be a bit hypocritical:

So, please don't let us lose the expertise of the best of what you have here!

Frustration is at an all-time high.

Please think on this, and hopefully you will agree that it is finally time to restrict posting to registered users.

Offerocker, there is a peaceable solution. Instead of trying to enact a policy to police this forum to meet your requirements, why not go to a forum like talkaboutsleep.com where you won't be consumed with trying to find out if anonymous posts are from registered members? At TAS you will always know who wrote what. You do have options and should go wherever you will be happiest. For me that place is here because I don't care if an anonymous post is written by a registered member or not. If it did bother me, I would go to TAS where I wouldn't have to worry about it.

If it weren't for the fact that this site is probably bringing in millions of dollars I'd bet it would be awfully tempting for the owners to just shut the damn thing down instead of dealing with all this drama.

Gotta love internet drama. It beats anything the soaps can come up with that's for sure!

But Offerocker that is illogical. You are the one who is unhappy here. I am not. Why do you stay and complain about not being able to tell if an anon post was written by a registered member, when you now know there is a place you can go where you won't have that problem which causes you so much anxiety and anger? I never said I didn't like your presence in this forum. I figured you didn't know there was an alternative or you wouldn't stay here and continue to complain-- so I passed the information along to you about talkaboutsleep.com.

I see now the truth is you aren't really looking for a forum where you won't have to wonder if an anonymous post was written by a registered member. If that was what you wanted you would be relieved to learn about TAS and not waste another minute of your time here. Even though it makes sense to go where you will be happy and not stay in a place where you feel such animosity and disharmony, you prefer to stay and keep it going. Most of the board is with you offerocker. This other party is just too insecure to "come out" as most likely won't be taken seriously. Feels power only that can be had under "guest" I feel sorry for this person, they need help

If my memory (sleep deprived) serves me, we have not always agreed but when we did not, we both kept our colors flying in battle. This should not even be an issue. Johnny has a great site here but this is one glaring weakness. His intentions are good but in reality they fail.

I will be at the side of anyone here to express themselves under their colors. I will never support those that hide under their mothers and wives skirts.

Could be a faulty memory, but tha's not the point, if we were to, I would not hide to do so and you would not either.

Could of sworn way back we were at opposite sides of the ring but it could have been someone else. Like I say, I am sleep deprived tonight, my Arthritis is not letting me have any peace.
