Johnny Goodman - need your attention on this please
Too often lately, registered members have been making PERSONAL ATTACKS UNDER "GUEST".
I DO understand the need for registered users to post under 'Guest", and I am not suggesting that feature be removed.
However there have been many malicious posts by doing this. We do need the former, but not the latter.
Can you please help this forum maintain a standard of civility.
What we may need is a method of capturing those comments, with corresponding ISP, and reporting them, for action to be taken.
I noticed that New Members must agree to a Code of Conduct. This is perfect!
Maybe current, registered users need to review that also?
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
Respectfully,
Kathleen
p.s. I am speaking only for myself.

why don't you just PM forumadmin or admins?Offerocker wrote:Too often lately, registered members have been making PERSONAL ATTACKS UNDER "GUEST".

But since you posted it in public: There sure is a striking resemblance between your post above and the other one from Registered User that caused all the ruckus, note the sign off line, if you are the author, seems you may be a bit hypocritical:
Registered User wrote:Johnny,
I must write this under 'Guest' because I represent multiple registered users, and there has been MUCH personal 'slamming' going on lately.
Long-time registered users are frustrated, some are not posting as much as they would truly like, and some have LEFT! Everyone suffers as a result!
Thankfully, you have made it very easy for newcomers to register; I've noticed that more 'newbies' have a userid the first time they post, so THAT IS WORKING.
What is NOT working is the 'Guest' posting. There has been an onslaught of personal attacks again lately. This interferes with the intention of this board in many ways.
Would you please consider restricting posts to those who are registered?
Or, alternately, but with much more work involved, do not allow registered users to log on as 'guest'.
I am speaking for myself in letting you know that I have spent a good 'out of pocket' sum at cpap.com, not only due to price, but as a show of 'support'.
You must know by now that your support of this forum has been a life saver for many of us.
So, please don't let us lose the expertise of the best of what you have here!
Frustration is at an all-time high.
Please think on this, and hopefully you will agree that it is finally time to restrict posting to registered users.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Plagarism - so sue me, Snoredog! Also, 'standard business closure'.Snoredog wrote: But since you posted it in public: There sure is a striking resemblance between your post above and the other one from Registered User that caused all the ruckus, note the sign off line, if you are the author, seems you may be a bit hypocritical:
I wasn't worried about it, have nothing to hide. I signed my post.
WHY are you so concerned? Need more raw meat to chew on? I don't have that much, but what there is, is 'choice'.
Go back under the porch and think of something 'nice' to say - that ought to keep you quiet for a very long time.
I've been wondering: are you simply a 'junk yard dog', or a Pitt Bull? - they are trained to not let go of anything. Methinks YOU have a SEVERE problem.
...Mystery Solved? I don't care what you think or believe.
I am simply making an attempt to stop malicious posts.
You apparently enjoy that kind of thing.
And now you are finding fault with MY post? Bad habits are hard to break, aren't they?

Offerocker, there is a peaceable solution. Instead of trying to enact a policy to police this forum to meet your requirements, why not go to a forum like talkaboutsleep.com where you won't be consumed with trying to find out if anonymous posts are from registered members? At TAS you will always know who wrote what. You do have options and should go wherever you will be happiest. For me that place is here because I don't care if an anonymous post is written by a registered member or not. If it did bother me, I would go to TAS where I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Guest: And what is YOUR problem with the suggestion?
How would it hurt YOU?
I think that question has been answered.
You need to leave, because you are illogical in your thinking - or lack of.
If you don't like my presence in this forum, LEAVE IT!
Why must you post to me under a mask?
I have no respect for you or whatever you have to say under those conditions.
This is my LAST response to a 'Guest' ...and I suggest that you start YOUR OWN thread

Respironics Auto C-Flex, HC-150, Activa, CL2 Simple Cushion, ComfortSleeve, Saline Snorter.
But Offerocker that is illogical. You are the one who is unhappy here. I am not. Why do you stay and complain about not being able to tell if an anon post was written by a registered member, when you now know there is a place you can go where you won't have that problem which causes you so much anxiety and anger? It defies logic.Offerocker wrote:You need to leave, because you are illogical in your thinking - or lack of.
I never said I didn't like your presence in this forum. I figured you didn't know there was an alternative or you wouldn't stay here and continue to complain-- so I passed the information along to you about talkaboutsleep.com.
I see now the truth is you aren't really looking for a forum where you won't have to wonder if an anonymous post was written by a registered member. If that was what you wanted you would be relieved to learn about TAS and not waste another minute of your time here. Even though it makes sense to go where you will be happy and not stay in a place where you feel such animosity and disharmony, you prefer to stay and keep it going. It is not only illogical but self-defeating.

Thanks for posting that, Rock and Roll !rock and roll wrote:Most of the board is with you offerocker. This other party is just too insecure to "come out" as most likely won't be taken seriously. Feels power only that can be had under "guest" I feel sorry for this person, they need help
Support is always welcomed.

If my memory (sleep deprived) serves me, we have not always agreed but when we did not, we both kept our colors flying in battle. This should not even be an issue. Johnny has a great site here but this is one glaring weakness. His intentions are good but in reality they fail.
I will be at the side of anyone here to express themselves under their colors. I will never support those that hide under their mothers and wives skirts.

Could be a faulty memory, but tha's not the point, if we were to, I would not hide to do so and you would not either.
Could of sworn way back we were at opposite sides of the ring but it could have been someone else. Like I say, I am sleep deprived tonight, my Arthritis is not letting me have any peace.
