Morning burping
Morning burping
Ok 5 weeks in and again from pretty much day one I've been getting +98 scores from my air with 90% at 100.
Past couple of days it seems like I'm burping a little bit in the morning. Nothing major just something I've noticed.
Is this normal?

It's called aerophagia, and many experience it.

Farting too, Aerophagia is normal for xPAP users, some get pretty bad wind pain.

Re: Morning burping
Yup, it's a fact of life. I can live with it, but it's difficult to express stomach gas while the PAP machine is in use and my mouth is sealed (I'm a mouth breather when I sleep). So, I have to do that when I rise each morning.
Re: Morning burping
This could be a sign that your pressure is too high. Tell your doctor and ask him to lower it.

Re: Morning burping
Normal. Though I dont usually burp. By the time I get up and take my mask off the air is too far down in my system to come back up that way. lol. So I fart for a few hours. Not every morning.....but it does happen from time to time.
Re: Morning burping
Um....no? You dont just tell your doctor a symptom and then tell them how to treat it. If you want to get a doctor involved you tell them your symptom and have a discussion about whether or not your pressure might be too high. You look at your data. You make an EDUCATED assesment of the situation before screwing around with your pressure or telling a doctor to do so.
If you are not willing to actually discuss it with your doctor and get their opinion then dont go to the doctor......jack around with your own pressure and deal with whatever consequencs come your way for doing so without examining ALL aspects of your treatement. Burping in the morning is NOT an indication to just "turn your pressure down". It might be an indication to check your data over several nights or weeks to see if any tweeks could be made.
Re: Morning burping
Actually they called me after a few weeks and they said they may actually increase it. If I'm reading Sleepy head right (I just got it installed) I hit my max pressure a few times a night.jennmary wrote: ↑Fri Mar 16, 2018 12:14 pm

As for calling me DR its only been today. I'm still working out this whole cpap life. But if I need to I can call the Sleep Coordinator at the Sleep Center I go to . Oh and I'm not planning on doing my own adjustments to my machine just yet.

Re: Morning burping
My reply was mostly for the person making that suggestion.
For some people taking an anti gas pill before bed helps. I have not found it to help me much.
I did not mess around with my own pressure in the begining either.

If the pressure is too high you could be intaking too much air pressure.jennmary wrote: ↑Fri Mar 16, 2018 12:14 pm

Re: Morning burping
"Could be". She JUST stated that is NOT the case. As I said.......it is an indication to check your data, not to automatically lower pressure. Sometimes effective treatment has side effects, that does not mean you are getting too much air pressure.PaulKTF wrote: ↑Fri Mar 16, 2018 12:30 pmIf the pressure is too high you could be intaking too much air pressure.jennmary wrote: ↑Fri Mar 16, 2018 12:14 pm

Re: Morning burping
I would not mind a bit of morning burping.
Guess it's because I sleep longer, and the "air" gets further along.
