I started a program that includes weight loss, cardio exercise, and tongue/throat exercises that I believe will bring my AHI even lower.
Many of us have fine tuned our CPAP therapy to the point of AHI less than 1.0. So, why haven't you?

I think that most doctors, clinics, patients and DMEs don't focus enough on getting the right mask. This is a very individual things, even more so than choice of a machine or settings.

It should not be too loose or too tight (that can often accomplished by adjustment). It needs to fit your face just right, so it's important that you get the right SIZE mask. Then, there's just the individual matter of which mask is hits the face in the most comfortable way. Usually, comfort and "fit" (i.e. not leaking) go hand-in-hand.

My PAP treated AHI is 2.4 as reported by my machine.
AI 0.9
CAI 0.8
I am a bit prone to Complex Sleep Apnea.
I keep my pressure a bit low because my CA will increase if I up the pressure.
I am fine with 2.4
My goal is to reduce my untreated AHI to less than 5, that is where I will be putting my effort.
Using weight loss, general exercise, and tongue/throat exercises I managed to get my AHI down to approx 5.
Not using a machine currently.

I'm doubtful about your goal, but the important thing is you seem to be using a good process.

Ugh, I also wish doctors would stop spreading the myth that it's just about sleep... Yeah we get it.. your sleep quality sucks when you have apnea... because even if you don't remember it because of the suffocation your sleep patterns constantly get disrupted. When I got my sleep test I had 51 apnea's an hour.... didn't remember waking up once. So yes it can seem like your sleep is 'worse' because your brain isn't being damaged anymore and you wake up due to the annoyances of the crappy mask your doc or dme gave you... but just think about the luxury of not having that brain damage... not getting a little dumber and angrier every day.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
