Donation?

Post by Tim » Wed Oct 25, 2006 12:49 pm

I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea about a year ago and put on a CPAP. I used it for 6 months and had the UPPP surgery and am since cured. The CPAP I have was charged at over $3000 to my insurance and doing no good in my closet. I was looking to donate it and maybe get a tax deduction in return. Anyone have any ideas where to check. There was one place on the internet taking donations but since stopped due to lack of storage space.

Thanks,
Tim

I suggest you read the post/thread titled "Just joined the club", if you think you're "cured".
In any case, what kind of machine do you have (make/model/accessories)?
There are many needy people that show up here looking for equipment to use.

Sell it and donate the money to charity

I have been retested twice since my surgery and as long as I keep my weight down I am sure I am fine. I sleep like a baby at night and wake up very well rested with anything over 6 hours sleep.

I think it is illegal to sell a CPAP isn’t it? They are only given out by prescription? Aren’t they?

Heading to read the rules now..

Did you read the post where they guy is losing his insurance and can't afford the cpap machine? Why not donate to him? Or someone else in same boat?
