Resmed P10 enough fresh air?

Does anyone notice that the P10 doesn’t allow much fresh air out the vent? It seems that I am rebreathing quite a bit of the same air. I switched back to the Swift which has more vented air and I feel far more refreshed in the morning.

What's vented isn't *fresh* air, but exhaled air. I've used the Swift and the P10, but prefer the quiet and diffusion of the P10. I don't clean my equipment much but I do scrub the vents on my P10 every couple weeks because they look grungy, not because they're not venting enough that I notice. That said, the mask you choose is a very individual choice and if the Swift suits you better then use it

The very first night I used my P10 mask, it worked fine. The next night, the vent was PLUGGED, and I couldn't exhale against it. I don't use a humidifier or anything like that. I switched to a different mask for a while, but eventually rechecked the P10 mask, and the vent was open again. I have never experienced that again as of yet. During that time I was on another mask, I read that others have had the same issue with their p10 mask.

I suspect since I keep my bedroom cold, that some moister than normal breathing air from me that night caused the vent fibers to seal up. I also suspect now that if I had known what was going on, and that if I had scrubbed the vent area with a little baby shampoo, rinsed, and let dry, it would have opened back up right away after drying.

That 'fresh' vented air is CO2, and no, you don't want to rebreathe it. Have you tried cleaning the patch of holes with a needle? Or talking directly to the DME to be sure the mask is 'good'?

Yep, doesn't happen that quickly with mine (might be a function of how much humidity you use), but about once a week, a soft bristle tooth brush with a drop of your favorite soap/shampoo/dish detergent, rinsing under water from the outside in will keep it clean and venting well. This and the head strap are downsides to the mask, comfort and quietness are the upsides.

An unclogged p10 vents just as much as any other mask, (check the mask statistics in the manual) it just doesn't *FEEL* like it, because it's a diffused instead of hard stream.

I found the vents difficult to clean with a brush, but a Waterpik does the job.
Polident tablets also work beautifullyl--rinse well to flush out the mint.

No, that vented air is not CO2. It's exhausted air that contain less than 4 to 5% CO2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breathing#Composition

But, it is important that the additional CO2 be cleared from the mask through properly working exhaust vents.

I use P10 and have run into this issue many times making it seem like i can't exhale properly.
The diffuser vent screen gets plugged up and I have to clean it.
Lately however moister is accumulating in the mask and plugging it up. once it dries out it works fine again.
I turned the Humidity off and still had the issue.
I have a Dreamware Gel pillow that I used and it does not have this issue.
I really like the P10 however so I now have two p10 masks and switch them out in the early Am when this happens.

When I don't feel that fresh air we are all talking about, I know it's time to clean the vent. I soak in dawn for around 20 minutes and then scrub with a old toothbrush and allow to air dry. Then it's like new again.

It sounds like you may be experiencing rainout in the mask or short hose. A barrel cozy & short hose cover from padacheek may help.
