Need some urgent help
Need some urgent help
For the past 54 days I haven't been feeling well. In fact I've felt awful. I wake up and I'm still exhausted. I'm just so lazy and tired. I haven't managed to do anything. I don't know what changed. My current stats. My previous stats and some background here.
Re: Need some urgent help
Absolutely see a doctor - asap. I'm not trying to worry you, but obviously your chart looks basically fine as does your AHI, however not everything is about OSA or Cpap. A lot else could be going on and you need to find out now... from pros, not 'us' on the internet. Go to the ER if necessary... so many possibilities, please don't wait.
Re: Need some urgent help
Same as to your chart looking OK and nothing to indicate it's an apnea problem. see a doctor, an examination and some blood work done.

Re: Need some urgent help
In October, I thought I was depressed because an event I had been planning for was cancelled at the last minute. November didn't seem to improve. By December, I realized I felt like crap, and it had to be something physical. I was also having "asthma" problems at night, and restless leg syndrome. I went to the doctor, and it turned out I was deficient in iron, which was causing those symptoms plus several others (headaches, feelinng cold, out of breath during the day, sore fingers, etc). It took months to get low enough for the symptoms to get bad enough for me to go to a doctor.
Make a list of any any symptoms you have, even if they don't seem related. Ask for some bloodwork to see if something is off. In my case, the doctor looked at my symptoms and suspected the iron, so she did a special test for iron. All of my numbers were really low. I didn't think half the symptoms were related, but they all turned out to be.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
Re: Need some urgent help
This is a question unrelated to this specific thread - rather, it relates to the OP's equipment:
The profile and the traces all specify a DreamStation CPAP Pro, yet the traces and stats all reference multiple periods of APAP usage. It was my understanding that the DS CPAP Pro was a fixed pressure machine and incapable of being used as an auto except during a single thirty day trial period. In this, it was my understanding that the trial period was a "one and done" feature. Is this correct? Or, as the data would seem to imply, that one could use the machine as an auto by merely switching back to CPAP for one day between trial periods. Am I missing something, or could a user essentially trick the machine into behaving like an on-going auto?

It's 30 days cumulative BUT it can be reset so that a person can get another 30 days of auto trial mode.JimW159 wrote:The profile and the traces all specify a DreamStation CPAP Pro, yet the traces and stats all reference multiple periods of APAP usage. I am unsure as to the exact number of resets available on the DreamStation Pro before it no longer works to gain another 30 days. Eventually doing the reset (erase all prior data) won't give a new 30 day period....past models were 5 resets when it was available like on the 460 PR S1 Pro model.
Once all the resets (however many there are) the auto trial mode choice will be greyed out and no longer available for selection.
From the changes in the settings via the summary report looks like used apap mode 30 days...then another 30 days which means one reset was done to get that second 30 days. There might be more as it appears that there are some items off the visual screen prior to the Oct 18 date in pink.

It surprises me that Respironics, not Resmed,
would be the first to do such a dirty deed.

Are you talking about the 30 day reset thing on the Respironics Pro models where the auto trial is limited??chunkyfrog wrote:It surprises me that Respironics, not Resmed,

If so, stop and think about it. ResMed doesn't even offer any auto mode on their Elite model...limited or not...none.
To my thinking Respironics is offering something on their fixed cpap models that ResMed isn't even offering. Yes it is limited but limited is still better than no option at all.
Also remember that we as the end users aren't considered the "customer" in the eyes of any machine manufacturer...it's the DMEs and doctors that ResMed and Respironics really listen to.
Respironics listened to someone who wanted at least limited auto adjusting pressure capabilities. ResMed didn't.
