I frequently check Medgadget;
and this morning I learned about what MIGHT be the next best thing.
Go2sleep. Maybe?
Anybody ahead of me on this?

Just checked it out and it's pretty cool. However I would not preorder this expecting to get it anytime soon. My concern for getting it anytime soon or fact that is claims to scree for sleep apnea. A couple major companies are working with FDA in new process for approval of devices like this. So I find it unlikely that this product would get approval anytime soon.

your o2 is fine for insurance purposes. to be considered for night time o2 your o2 has to be <88% for a total of 6 minutes over a whole nights sleep. work on getting referred to a board certified pulmonologist.

Yea I don't have any insurance just the VA so no clue what there policy is. I'm still spending a good amount of time under 90% . Tomorrow I'm going to call VA, I don't expect a call back but who knows. Would it be reasonable to see if they have and would give me the stuff to hook up pulse oximeter to CPAP for a week to see what that shows?

as i said before, go to see your pcp and get it sorted out. their pulse oximeter is the same as yours on the fingertip. it don't go into the cpap machine. you don't need it a week. they know in one night. don't call. go see the doc.not the nurse or rt. they also can get an accurate o2 test with a blood draw.

When I called after hours care line on weekend for something else I asked who I should bring this up too. He told me PCP. I sent email to PCP and called today. My respiratory therapist at VA and PCP said to call sleep center. I called sleep center and they said I needed to talk the their respiratory therapist who I left message for . Unfortunately they called me back when I was at work today and training someone so I couldn't get away. I plan on calling back tomorrow to see what they think.

So I am looking at your data and thinking that I must be walking dead since I AVERAGE 77 events a night with 11 events under 88%. I am anxious to see what your doctor says. I am going to take my data to the doc this week!

BTW, During the same month time period my average AHI was 2.46.

95% of time I was under 95% . I'm not sure the number of events matter so much as the under under 90%. I think it was brought up in this thread that Medicare requires 5 minutes or more under 88% for supplemental oxygen. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.
I think I was in deep sleep when my oxygen levels were lowest because second half of night I was waking up a lot more.

Be sure to bring your oximeter to the doctors visit. That will allow your doctor to verify the accuracy of your unit.

40+ minutes below 88% seems like a lot... it looks like your heart sped up a little to try to compensate.

I'll definitely bring it. I have had others use it and have normal readings even using it overnight. For my sleep study I was under 90% for a third of the time.

So I had my appointment today. They didn't look at the report at all. They are sending order to VA to have them give me oximetry unit for my machine for a night. I called my RT at VA to make him aware. He was awesome and is able to fit me in before work today to give me unit and show me how to use it.

For those interested this is what the VA gave me to use for the night to measure blood oxygen levels.
