New to APAP, Sleepyhead question

Post by Bloomer » Mon Dec 25, 2017 11:18 am

Hi all,

I just recently got a Dreamstation APAP after being diagnosed with OSA. My AHI was 57 during my home sleep test (insurance wouldn't approve an in lab titration). After a few nights, I'm finally getting used to it and figured I'd post two of my latest nights from Sleepyhead.

My AHI is down to mid 5s, but I noticed the vast majority of my events are Hypopneas, curious if there's anything I can do to adjust for that. My Doc prescribed my pressure 4-15 to start, but I bumped the lower up to 5 as I had trouble falling asleep on 4 (not enough airflow). FYI that gap on the 24th was when I woke up and realized I had taken my mask off.

See attached. -Blake

Blake..I would slowly increase your minimum pressure to 7. I think each small increase should reduce the AHI. Try 6 for a few days and then increase to 7.

And try not to sleep on your back, which promotes many more events.

I agree with LSAT... a little more minimum pressure.

Welcome to the forum.
You receive an A+ on your first post. Perfect. You provided the relevant history and SH data. Congrats on increasing your minimum pressure to meet your comfort needs. Now some simple tweaks to optimize your therapy. The advice you have received is spot on.

Silly question here. I can't get my SleepyHead to show event flows at top screen like your one here. Mine shows the second graph but not the event ones. What am I doing wrong? This is my one from last night. Image

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Last night went really well. AHI down to 3.69 starting at 6cmH2O.

I'll work my way up to 7 as suggested.

That is great. Still room for improvement as you definitely still need more pressure. Keep it up.
