If you've got money laying around that you have no use for, why not donate it to a worthwhile charity instead of sending it to scammers?

I'm also pretty good about reading through group think. Have you ever used one? I didn't see any comments for actual users on this site, only people who wanted to trash it. I chose to check it out myself look at reviews on other sites and make my own decision. I'm happy with it, it is my money.

Just so the last post will be a fact-based comment . . .

Consider the source of this "advice" before wasting one's money.

I haven’t seen any facts in this thread, but lots of opinion. What is funny is to look at the reviews on Amazon of people who actually own the device. It is rated very well by those who use it.

Only positive reviews, of course . . .
If they posted the honest reviews, they would have trouble selling them.

Users may like the machine but unless able to carry out a complete analysis of the germs and dirt comparing use with so clean vs with washing in dish washing soap and water, any opinion is just opinion.

A users liking the product is no better than a non user not liking it - both are opinions.

Most that don't like it, don't like it first and foremost because of the cost and second because it doesn't clean, it only "sanitizes" and cleaning oils is very important for good mask fit, so cleaning is still required.

You don't have to own it and use it to know this.

Interestingly enough, I looked at this on Amazon a couple of months ago, and based on the reviews there, I decided it wasn't worth the money. For starters, about 16-17% of the reviews are not from verified purchasers, but what really got my attention were the number of reviewers who all said they liked it at first, but that it stopped working after some number of months, less than a year. A $300 machine had better last a lot longer than just a few months, but that's my opinion.

When I want to do a deeper clean of my mask and hose, I will soak them in white vinegar. It kills mold and removes hard water deposits. Then I just rinse and dry them. It's hardly any work at all, but not something I would do daily, or even weekly.

Edit: not that I get a lot of hard water deposits from the distilled water. I throw my retainers in as long as I'm doing a soak, and the retainers do get hard water deposits on them.

What's *FUNNY* is to apply critical thinking to the whole thing.

You have a bunch of ignorant, unscientific people on amazon that shelled out a bucketload of money, they're *naturally* going to have confirmation bias ("I spent all this money, of course it works, I didn't get ripped off") when they're presented with something that flashes it's lights and makes a whiff of a funny smell.

Not *ONE* of those people is going to do any testing, not ONE of those people is going to swab and culture their mask/tube/tank before and after a series of "treatments" to confirm or disprove the claims of the manufacturer, they're simply going to do what people have done after being fleeced by charlatans(see patent medicine) throughout the ages, they're going to be affected by the placebo affect and THINK that things are better... and proudly proclaim that they haven't wasted their money absent any proof at all. "I don't SEE any germs, it must be clean!"...

If you bothered to read some of the many previous threads here, you'd find some wherein people that work in the industrial ozone sanitation field, on machines that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars have looked at the soclean, at the *stated specs* of the device, and pointed out that it *cannot work*. It doesn't generate a sufficient amount of ozone to do what it claims, and it cannot, there's not enough energy in the house current coming out of the wall socket in your bedroom.

You go ahead and believe what you want to do if it helps you sleep better, not accepting the fact that you got suckered into throwing away money.
