Basically, I consider it to be the behavior that is banned, not the human behind the online identity.

Then again, it ain't my forum, which is actually something I really like about this place: I'd much rather attend a good party thrown by someone else rather than having to put all the effort into throwing one myself, lazy me.

Which reminds me, who made that dip? And who ate all the shrimp again? Just stay away from the snake oil--it tastes nasty.
I made the guac to eat all the shrimp with and left the snake oil for the ban committee

When I take a walk or ride the bus and identify a homeless person with mental issues, I tend to observe and maybe even avoid rather than poke a stick at him/her. But that's just me when I go to a party.

Well, if you fed all that dipped-shrimp-on-a-stick to the homeless, I forgive you.

I'll stay at the party as long as no one gets drunk on the snake oil and then starts trashing the place with ads and disruptive behavior that ruins the party for me. (Banning ads is ALSO a well-accepted form of censorship, after all.) But even if that disruption happens, I just wander around outside a while until someone else fixes the party, then I come back.

At least, until the party goes south again.

I'm wishy-washy that way.

Your transparency is showing right through again Mr.

Have a great and wonderful party holiday!

The analogy falls flat when you observe the differences between a homeless person who has no resources or access to resources in order to address their issues, and someone who quite obviously does have access to all those things. The mental case we’re all discussing here did have that access, but in spite of heeding what a large number of people told him, chose to carry on being destructive. It took far too long to dump him, it should have been done months ago.

I got the underlying point of his analogy, I believe:

It is customary, ethical, moral, and rewarding to go the extra mile in tolerating inconvenient disruptions from the disadvantaged.

Point well made. Point taken.

Some go two miles. Some go 100. Some go 1,000.

But in a group setting, someone has to make the call when it comes to choosing the distance to travel.

There is a difference between irritating and malicious. He had means, cell phone, computer, internet, wife?, Home. health ins. I don't believe he was crazy. I do believe he chose to be what he was because it gave him pleasure.

We were his Sand Box, playing in it was his fun. We allowed him to stay, we were always willing to play his game. Now still some of us are so obsessed over him we can't let it go.

I doubt he will find such a willing group to play with that will be more fun for him. Jim

P.S. I am sure he is reading every post and LHAOing, But also SAD, that he can't play in his Sand Box!

Possibly so. But such judgments of motive are not in my wheelhouse.

I seldom Judge, I do weight the Facts and form a opinion based on them. That then becomes My Opinion, others are free to form their own.

Why do I keep hearing this song in my head? "Thank God and Greyhound" Jim

The bad thing I usually have a Opinion, and I seldom keep it to myself.

Just setting here on Thanksgiving, not a Turkey in sight.

Wasn't calling you judgmental, Jim. Just making excuses for myself. You lived it. I was speaking theory.

You've been around the block more than a few more times than I have here, and your eyes have been on this forum much more than mine have. So your opinion on that carries a lot of weight, from where I sit. And I defer to it, sir.

No turkey for me either. I don't do holidays. Another personal oddity of mine. Eat healthy, Jim. And I'll try to do the same.

I did find Chicken Noodles in the fridge, they are good. The dinner party was 50 miles away, wasn't up to it, but maybe the wife will have leftovers from it. My daughter came over a couple of days ago and made the noodles, almost as good as Mom made. Forgot to rethank her. Have a good Thanksgiving. Jim

Sometimes I wish I had the resources for a brain transplant but I think most of us are stuck with what we got.

I feel sorry for all those that were sleeping behind the door when they were passing the brains out, too bad the door was so big, there was a lot of room behind it. Jim
