OT: Quick Laugh

Post by bigdave36 » Thu Nov 02, 2017 4:15 pm

I have been off work for nearly 6 weeks with a pesky case of plantar fasciitis. Could be a bunch more if surgery is needed.
I have spent most of my time watching TV, lurking this forum, and being bored to tears.
Today we got Chinese, and my fortune cookie said, "A much needed vacation will help you unwind" GRRRR!!!!
LOL

Ahh well, sometimes you are the pigeon and sometimes the statue.

Oh yes, I forgot to add I hope you get well quickly. I had very achy feet for a long time, I do believe the CPAP therapy has helped my feet to recover overnight and they are so much better now.

Let's see now...

Kick back, put your feet up, living the Life of Riley.

It is amazing the hardships that some have to endure...

On a serious note, I hope you heal rapidly.

I had plantar fasciitis--really painful! Hope you feel better soon.

Just putting it out there that plantar fasciitis is highly correlated with Hyperinsulemia/ insulin resistance. Since I have been using a ketogenic to correct this metabolic condition, I have had no more pain or issues with plantar fasciitis. One of the many things that has dramatically improved.

That's very interesting.

Even I can still learn stuff around here after almost a dozen years.

I've had plantar fasciitis like 3 times in my life ... first time was a high school football injury, second was an Aikido practice injury in college, and last time was late in 2005 before being diagnosed with OSA (I think it was while either doing the warrior or moon yoga pose). Anyway, indeed quite painful and takes weeks and weeks and then more weeks to heal. I definitely had hyperinsulinemia during the last injury ... not sure of the first two as I was still relatively young and mostly stupid and indestructible.

Make sure you consume lots of collegen protein from organic bone broth .... use cyclic hot and cold compresses (hot for increased blood flow and cold for reducing inflamation) along with some vibration therapy to activate the lymphatic system. And if you really want to speed it up, do a water fast for 7+ days ... after 7 days of water fasting, your body undergoes autophagy to recycle dead and injured cells and repair injuries as fast as possible.

Good luck with your recovery bigdave !!

Thanks for the good vibes and advice. I have been dealing with it for about 4 months now. Shots, PT, stretching, ultrasound, ice, soft cast, (boot), drugs, night splint, orthotics on order ($400 out of pocket), very frustrating.
I haven't missed more than 3 days work at a time due to illness or injury in over 40 years steady employment. Never thought a boo boo on my foot would get me.
Gonna do alot of walking and stair climbing this weekend to see if I can handle a return to work. I see my Podiatrist Tuesday morning and am hopeful.
You guys are great...thx

And, we are all going to die anyway -- with or without undergoing autophagy.

Heal quickly, Dave!

I have had plantar fasciitis twice. The first time was several years ago and cleared up after sleeping in a splint at night. The second time was after i had extensive foot surgery and cleared up after doing several weeks of stretching exercises. Hope your problems clear up soon.

I've had PF twice, once on each foot but not at the same time. This is the night splint I like, although I added something in the arch to make it work better.

This is the day splint I like, the gel pad goes under the arch. This fits in *most* shoes. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01 ... UTF8&psc=1

The exercises that helped me the most were the stair stretches. Place the ball of the foot on the tread as you step onto the stair, hanging the heel down past the edge of the stair, stretching the plantar fascia.

I hope you get relief soon. PF is no fun.
