Did your Dreamstation wifi card come with unit?
Did your Dreamstation wifi card come with unit?
I bought from a reputable online store that has a brick and mortar store an hour away from me. They told me before I bought the Dreamstation that it came with a wifi card. When I got it I found it did not have the card. They then told me it was built in, which I knew was incorrect. Then they told me I needed to get it from the Dr. Which I also know will lead me to a dead end.
So, can you tell me if your Wifi or Cellular card came with your Dreamstation or you had to get it somewhere else?
Thanks!

A Wifi or Cellular card, are different animals. No WiFi in or with your machine. I might have a Cellular mode added, if so the card is included. Jim

Sd card slots are on most, if not all, machines
The wifi card is something you would probably have to buy elsewhere.

The WiFi card option does not come from the manufacturer nor is it used by them. It's a add on tech, that will work if you have the ability to install it correctly. It allows your data to transfer to your home network then your computer into the Sleepyhead software, should you desire to attempt it. Or you can use a SD card in your XPAP to copy the data to your computer with a SD card reader or SD to USB adaptor. Jimchunkyfrog wrote:Sd card slots are on most, if not all, machines

Mine came with the cellular card so the data can be tranmitted daily to the DME and sent to insurance to prove compliance so they keep paying for treatment. No wifi capabilities at all, but it does have built in bluetooth I can use to connect to my phone with the DreamMapper software.

Mine came with both a cellular modem--it's a small white box inserted in the left side of the machine, not a card (to transmit data to the DME)--and the SD card for data storage. I did not receive a wifi card.

Thanks!
The Dreamstation has both a cellular and wifi module option. I prefer Wifi. I am mainly pissed because they told me it came with it and then it did not... looks like it is another $80 module if I want to auto send to my Dr.
I will just check if they can read the card at the office. It is not a big deal to me since I already have all the info I need via Sleepyhead, but I am sure the Dr will have no idea what Sleepyhead is and will want it on their system in the office.
The WiFi module, BTW, works the same as the cellular module... device transmits directly to Philips servers. Neither allow local access. Only Bluetooth allows local comm with iPhone/iPad app.

You can use Flash Air card in place of the SD card and use your in home wifi system to transfer data to your computer. I have them in both of our machines and transfer data to my desk top computer through my router. I have been using one card for over two years, and the second one for over nine months with no problems.

What do you mean by this? It sounds like you are saying the doc will want Sleepyhead to use in the office.jtech1 wrote:I am sure the Dr will have no idea what Sleepyhead is and will want it on their system in the office.
What are you trying to accomplish? If you are using a sleep doctor, he has plenty of other patients and has established procedures on how to deal with these matters.

The sleep docs usually use the data from either your card or the upload (from the modem, etc.). But your doctor may be interested in Sleepyhead, at least information about it. I know my sleep doc is always interested in what ideas and suggestions his patients have and what they're doing that has helped them. He has offered suggestions to me that other patients have told him about, and he always wants feedback on if something is working or not.

I read it as meaning that "the Dr will . . .want the sleep information on their system in the office." The subject which the pronoun "it" replaces is way back in the clause before "but" (see the original post). The "system in the office" is likely the Respironics professional software--I forget what it's called.ChicagoGranny wrote:What do you mean by this? OK, that's better. You apparently diagram the sentences to understand what is going on here.Soothest Sleep wrote:I read it as meaning that "the Dr will . . .want the sleep information on their system in the office."

In some cases, even doing that wouldn't help.ChicagoGranny wrote: You apparently diagram the sentences to understand what is going on here.

Re: Did your Dreamstation wifi card come with unit?
Sorry I was not clear. I meant, if the Dr does not have my data in their Philips software in office (via wifi/cell or SD card) they will probably care to see my Sleepyhead graphs and numbers.
