New Users

Post by weroberts75 » Fri Oct 27, 2017 11:26 am

I've noticed that some members here are not always kind to new users.

I remember when I first started CPAP that I was anxious all the time, I was continually second guessing choices of equipment and sleep tactics,
and I had a hard time understanding what other CPAP users meant when they were talking to each other.

After I began sleeping well and learning how to take care of myself, things were not as rough, but this post is simply to advocate for patience with new users.

I agree!
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

+1 - some of the stuff I am seeing recently is making my skin crawl.

You are kinder with your words than I would be.
I liken how some members are treating newbies to a pack of hyenas going after a crippled gazelle.

Unfortunately it now appears to be the norm and expected way to treat someone they don't like.
Kinda sickens me....like watching National Geographic and that pack of hyenas tear that baby gazelle apart.

Pack mentality I suppose. It stinks.

But.. is there never a time, once someone's been a 'newbie' for months and has posted x 10 daily for every, single, solitary tiny thing that pops into their heads and never, ever (apparently) does their own homework, even a tiny little bit? Or apparently does hit Google once a month and proceeds to repeat the one thing read which is complete nonsense? When should we, who are also tired, get a break?

TY Kindly Weroberts.

There are a few here that enjoy acting up. I am 7 weeks into Cpap and not a day goes by when someone does not attack me. I feel these people are just unhappy and maybe even miserable. Someone said it here before--don't engage them. Harder said than done. In any event, hopefully they will just go away.

Have you ever watched Seinfeld on TV? These are episodes about nothing. The same for goes for your posts....all about nothing.

Okay - here's the thing.

I admit that sometimes new people can irritate me. The example given DOES irritate me.

But I've chosen the path of saying nothing. My making a snarky comment will serve no useful purpose other than irritate the new person. Now we're both irritated so what did it accomplish? Two irritated people instead of one.

We're all different with different personalities. A lot of users here irritate me - not just new people. Some of the veterans irritate me! But unless they (new or veteran) are so obnoxious (those will go nameless for obvious reasons) - I say nothing because it serves no purpose other than to cause turmoil on the board.

Why is it that what she says and does is any of your business? Don't like what she says or how many times she says it, it's easy, peasy... go to a DIFFERENT THREAD! That would give you the "break" you speak of.

Do you think they are talking about someone else, you are the self appointed "expert" and the poster that keeps posting the same thing over and over about every one being "libturds and bullies". But alas you don't see it.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I think any new user that does a little lurking and researching before posting, can quickly spot who to ignore and who to engage.

Yeah, I suppose but what can we expect from a new user when long time forum members can't refrain from engaging.
To do something we can't???
Maybe they can...we sure can't seem to get it done.
