Another Benefit of Sleep Therapy

Post by mothra7 » Wed Oct 11, 2006 8:28 am

A few years ago, when I was going to Curves and checking my pulse periodically I realized that I had an irregular heartbeat. The cardiologist said it was nothing to worry about. Now I go to a water aerobics class where once again, we check our pulse after the aerobic portion of class. To my amazement, my pulse is completely regular! I can't wait to tell the cardiologist!

Heartbeat

Glad you mentioned that - hadn't thought to check that out. I have read that apnea can cause irregular heartbeat, although I don't know what that irregularity would look like technically. I was told a couple years ago I had some premature beats along with a few "couples and runs" which were causing me to have weak spells. These showed up in my sleep studies and on a Holter monitor. I'm seeing a doc in a couple weeks for some cardiology studies - will be interesting to see if there's any difference.
