Call home. Hope you and family are okay!

Edit: Thought I would add that she and her family live in Sonoma, CA.

We are ok so far. CPAP is in the car in case we need to evacuate but I'll dig it out before sleep. Looking forward to it, because the smoke is pretty bad and CPAP helps.

Thanks for asking. The neighborhood we lived in when first married is gone.

Grab a handful of extra filters. They fill up fast.
I know because every spring, Kansas burns off the dry prairie grass
right after the wind switches to blow all that damned smoke straight up to Nebraska.
I know, first world whinge . . .

Just an update that we had to evacuate today. We are safe and await news of our neighborhood.

My cousin and her husband are safe, but waiting to hear about their home also. They are in the hills in Napa. The homes on either side of them burned to the ground, which they found out when they were allowed to get a few things from their home. They were allowed 3 minutes to grab meds and some clothes. Oh, and they found their cat who they couldn't find when they fled their house Sunday night.

Please continue to keep us updated if you can.

Very old friend outside of Redding... hope it's too far north to be involved... haven't heard anything though.

Redding is one of the places very much involved. Not sure if it's been completely evacuated or not.

Pretty horrible in the Sonoma/Napa area. We're south of there ("central coast"), and have had smoky days. Yesterday had a very striking and colorful sunset through the smoke. Hoping that they finally get a handle on those fires, so many evacuations, so many affected people. The pictures that I've seen have been so sad.

My thoughts are for everyone on or off of this list who lives in affected areas or who have loved ones there. My deepest sympathy also to the families and loved ones of the victims who lost their lives.

I have relatives who live two hours north of SF who said that so far, the fires have not moved in their direction. But obviously, they are keeping a watchful eye since things could change in a heartbeat. They also know many people who have lost their homes although fortunately, there weren't any fatalities.
