Higher Pressure
So I posted in here about having problem with mask seal and leakage before I was accepted as a member. I want to thank everyone for their reply there. I have been using the F20 Cushion mask, and tried the nasal pillows and cushion. The pillows irritate my nose to the point that form sores. The cushions I have tried I couldn't get to seal properly and that was at 22/15 Bipap Pressure. The only mask I can get to seal is the Fitlife Total face mask and it was borderline for me. And my DME is no longer offering it here locally as they say they don't even get what they pay for it from the insurance company. Now I have just had another sleep test due to having a pulmonary embolism, a DVT, pneumonia, and went into diastolic heart failure. The sleep Tech says the only way she control my events per hour was by raising the pressure to 30/22. If the doctor does that I don't think I can wear anything. I am hoping someone can give me some advice for those pressures. Thank you in advance. Now that I have my approval I will be here more often I promise and will answer comments.
Re: Higher Pressure
Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately I have no good advice for you regarding your treatment. My general advice is to make sure that all of your doctors (pulmonologist, sleep doctor, heart doctor) fully understand all of your issues. They are supposed to communicate but sometimes it doesn't happen.
Hopefully someone can provide better advice than I can. Good luck.

Re: Higher Pressure
what mask did they use for the sleep study? That sealed. Bit getting a mask to fit your face and learning how to adjust it properly for you, is a never ending quest. You may need to add an extra copay to your DME, to get a Fitlife

Re: Higher Pressure
While my pressure has never been as high as 30, I have successfully used the F&P Simplus and Phillips Amara View at 25 without having leaking problems. Since using a soft cervical collar when sleeping, I have been able to lower my pressure needs. My machine is not set on 12 - 22, and never goes over 15.
