Anyone have experience w/Profile Lite Nasal Gel Mask

I am need of a new mask, my swift is not working out for me. Has anyone used this masK?????

The comfort lite was terrible and it didn't work for me, maybe they have improved it since mine, but it had a poorly designed "seam" from molding the cushion that went right across the bridge of your nose. This seam left a nice gouge on your nose to wear around the next day at work.

Then you were to boil it so it conformed to your face better, but it didn't really conform all that well even if you baked it. This mask only has a single gel pad to rest on your forehead, it left a dent of its own dead center, so you looked like cyclops with a divot on your nose. This mask also doesn't have any pivot adjustment to stop leaking into your eyes. I would pass on the Profile lite

One thing about it, you can spot people using that mask a block away. I personally haven't tried the ComfortGel, but it appears to have that same scary blue cushion as the Profile Lite. The ComfortGel does have a forehead pivot and better forehead support pad so you can at least adjust leaks out of the eyes. I would select the ComfortGel over the lite, but I haven't found any masks that had Comfort in their name comfortable.

I would suggest going to cpap.com and reading the review on masks there.

Teacherjane Remember my experience with this mask may be different from someone else's experience with it. The right mask for you is an individual preference. The profile lite was the first mask I used. It was very leaky I would wake up numerous times a night adjusting it. everytime I moved it would leak in a different place & like snoredog stated it would leave a big red mark on the bridge of my nose. I even have a scar there to remind me how much I disliked this mask. This is just my opinion others may like this mask.

This is one of the masks I use. I find it pretty comfy and you can have it shaped to fit your face, so it doesn't seem to leak as much. Also, it doesn't seem to cause too much chafing. The headgear is really big, but I just swapped the heardgear. I do sometimes get a dent in the forehead, but usually if I wear it too tight or sleep on my face.

My bigest complaint is that it is rather noisy and the mask doesn't have any pivot adjustment to stop the mask from venting into your eyes.

Hi teacherjane,

I used the Profile Lite over a period of many years because that was the one I was provided with initially. It worked reasonably well. I wish I would have had my Bipap with smart card so I would have some hard data on leakage, etc..

I guess I would say it was good at the time. I still keep a relatively new one in my collection of masks, but I do not use it often.
