Resmed's Controlled Prices. Higher Than Rumoured.

Post by completelyhosed » Fri Sep 29, 2006 11:01 pm

It is no longer rumor. Here comes the Resmed Internet price controlled world. 40% increase? I wish!

Using cpap.com prices as what was, here is a sampling of the changes Resmed is trying to stick us with.

Swift was $109.50 now $159.00

Ultra Mirage was $82.50 now $135.00

Ultra Mirage Full Face was $139.50 now $209.00

S8 Compact CPAP was $344.99 now $595.00

S8 Vantage CPAP was $634.99 now $825.00

Humidaire 3i was $175 now $260

VPAPIII was $1279 now $2495

The "was" prices represent fair market value in a free market.

More can be found on Apnea Therapy's site.

Want more info. Resmed is at 800-424-0737 out in California. I am sure they would love to explain how this is the right thing to do to their loyal buyers. It would be most informative to post what they say. It is time we heard from them.

Looks like it is not going to cost me a dime. I purchased a Comfort2 FF today and it saved me $50 bucks over the Resmed UMFF I used to buy at $140.

Shoot, every two of those I buy it will be like getting one free.

cpap.net has folded to Resmed as well. CPAP.com has pulled S8 machines but I don't see price changes. Something is going on there, what are those folks up to?

The price changes don't "officially" go into effect until the 1st (tomorrow), so until then, we won't know for sure.

In any case, I've been stocking up with enough of my favorite masks and seals to last me for a VERY long time. They (ResMed) won't be getting any MORE of my money.

Resmed settings

Post by Htin » Sun Oct 01, 2006 8:03 am

I just bought a Resmed S8 Autoset Vantage which comes with 4 - 20 cm H2O settings. I want to change it to 4 - 15. Can not do it from the control panle and user manual does not say how.

Any body can tell me how?

Thanks.

Well........I found this interesting........
Have been checking the ResMed brand items in CPAP.COM's price list and found this notice on each one of them that I checked:

This product is not for sale at this time

I don't want to do any speculating on the nature of that notice, so I won't try to read between the lines and make further comments.....other than "Time will tell".....I guess.

I may be wrong but I could swear that cpap.com had the Swift for $115 before and today it is listed with new picture for $109. In addition, many of their other Resmed products are still the same price as before ... maybe they have not got around to updating their prices but the price for the Swift sure is weird.

I wrote to cpap.com last week asking if they would be still selling a particular product for the ResMed xPAP. They said they would be carrying all ResMed products after October 1st, and while the prices would be higher, they would still be cheaper than purchasing locally.

The hose on my Swift doesn't look like the one in the new picture. Perhaps that is the new improved Swift hose? It's possible that ResMed has lowered the list price. Yeah, I know. Not likely....

I just checked Google. The cached version of the page shows $109, and is dated 9/27/06. Google Cache version

(If that doesn't work, try http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:PyE ... =clnk&cd=1

I'm thinking they just don't have the new prices posted yet.

dreamstalker

I purchased a swift full setup end of may this year and my invoice says $114.00 So you are not wrong. Somehow I remember $107 or $109 somewhere in there too so maybe the price went down after May then now it will go up again.

I also missed the price reduction on the card reader and software

(- aprox $30)

ResMed prices

Post by Arizona-Willie » Mon Oct 02, 2006 5:53 pm

I emailed ResMed today and told them I had bought my last ResMed product and had replaced my Activa with a Hybrid.

I told them my S8 Elite is still on rental and I'm thinking of returning it too.

Then I pasted in a screenshot of their stock price for the last month or so.

Told them their pricing policy was inane and someone should be fired.

No response.

Shortly after reading that Respironics was going to discontinue production of the "classic" RemStar Auto w/C-Flex in favor of the newer Respironics M Series Auto w/C-Flex I contacted cpap.com via phone about purchasing the "classic" assuming the price would go down. I was told that the price for the "classic" most likely would NOT go down, that often older models or styles would go UP in price. Shortly thereafter, sure enough, the M Series Auto w/C-Flex was priced cheaper than the "classic" Auto w/C-Flex and the "classic's" had gone up some. I found the "classic" elsewhere cheaper and bought it there rather than from cpap.com. I never thought to ask cpap.com if they would meet that price by providing the URL. (That supplier's M Series Auto w/C-Flex was higher than cpap.com's by a relatively good margin). This may be the case w/the Swift and the Swift II??

And, no, I don't mean to bite the hand that provides this wonderful forum, and, yes, I very much appreciate cpap.com and their products, prices and services. cpap.com realized a good product when they had one, the other DME supplier opted to "dump" the "classic" to clear their inventory. At the same time, after Respironics' declaration of intent to discontinue the "classic" they were available en masse on yahooauctions.com and were going from $300 to $450 new and complete w/all the trimmings except mask.
