I'm glad to find, that as a CPAP user, I would not have to remove my shoes. (Although I would then be subject to a more exhaustive explosives detection search, it might be worth it! )

Do they teach these gov't. employees to write what they mean? OOOHHHH, excuse me--of course they don't....

Thanks, Chuck. The main idea is there, at least. In getting the doc to write a letter, I'll have to ask for an explanation of distilled water. Then take extra for sampling, unless they sell it at the "sterile" airport stores. I'm pretty sure that "sterile" in this case does not refer to the germs in the water.

I can't open that memo with my MAC for some reason.
I am plannng on going on a trip really soon and would like to know what it says that is different from what they were doing before.
Can someone please briefly tell me? It sounds like I might need a letter from my doctor??

thanks,
Maryb

wouldn't it be easier to get some distilled water when you land

Getting distilled water after landing takes time that may not be available. Hotel shuttles generally do not make stops. Recent shuttle prices from the airport to a conference were $60 per person, so imagine a cab?

Unless there is distilled water for sale at the airport or within walking distance of the hotel, that means taking some with one. So, no, it is not easier to get distilled water after landing although it might seem so. IMHO, it is easier, cheaper, and more time efficient to take a sport-bottle liter of distilled water.

I've not had any trouble getting distilled water right at the hotel, (Marriott, Hyatt, Radisson, Hilton, W, Sofitel, Ramada, Sheraton) but it probably depends on the hotel. Suggest placing a toll-free call ahead of time to see if it's available and save yourself the inconvenience of bringing it with.

I just use tap water when I travel. A couple nights of tap water isn't going to gunk anything up!

It doesn't say anything different. It's just talking about the relaxing of the "no liquid" rules a little bit.

Mary-

I use a Mac TiBook. Every time I tried to access the TSA website using Safari, Safari abruptly crashed. I sent bug reports to Apple on this. I then tried with FireFox v1.5.0.3 and it worked fine! So, if you were using Safari and couldn't access the memo, try it with another browser if you have one. I recommend FireFox highly.

Hope this helps!

Chuck

i haven't flown since i had my CPAP, and usually stay with friends when i fly. so I was not thinking about my last post.

How about just calling the hotel and seeing if the conceirge can accomidate you.

Usually I drive wherever i need to go.

I don't like to fly. I need arm and leg room not to be put in a coffin with wins. I also do not like being searched so I will not go to the airport. but most of all I do not like having to pay for 2 seats.
