Me too - no tonsils

Post by kikisue » Thu Sep 21, 2006 3:41 pm

I had my tonsils and adenoids out when I was 4 due to hearing problems, of all things. I snored prior to that but never after - but have moderate apnea. I always thought hubby was the apneac - and guess what, finally got him to go for his sleep study and he'll be joining me soon with his mask and machine.

Wonder if they offer any "2 for 1" specials at cpap.com.........

Karen

>>Instead I made myself look like an {anatomical reference}. <<

In my case I had no idea what "put it on the roses" was supposed to mean, so it never occurred to me that it was an insult.

But if you don't want to look like an anatomical reference, you might consider a new picture ! <grin>

I probably should have had mine out when I was a child as I had so many sore throats, but tonsillectomies weren't as commonplace back then and being a child naturally I was scared and didn't want the surgery so my mother didn't force the issue. I did what they used to call "outgrow" the condition until I was about 25 and then the sore throats returned with a vengance at which time I did have them removed. The surgery was tougher then with being an adult with more tissue involved and a longer healing process. I remember it well as I had to sit in a chair similar to a dental chair and have the surgery under a local rather than being put to sleep. Yuck!!!!
Still here I am 41 years later having been prescribed this new way of sleeping for 2 years now.
