RemStar Auto C Flex vs RemStar M series?

Post by jshuler43 » Mon Sep 18, 2006 5:27 pm

I've narrowed my choices for an APAP down to a RemStar and I'm wondering if there is much of a difference between the RemStar or RemStar M series? It looks like the M series is lighter, but is there a negative trade off? It seems like a no brainer to get the lighter version, but want to make sure before I make such an expensive choice.

There is a slight "sleight-of-hand" going on with the M series. The power supply has been externalized into a separate package. The composite assembly is still smaller than the older Pro 2-type equipment, but not by as much as some folks think.

I like the 'Tank', because it is harder to pull off the night-stand with the hose.

Tanks, are tough. The cost is lower. cpap.com has lowered the price on Tanks. The old version of the software works with the old Tanks.

Every year Electronic items get smaller, but do they last longer, weight means better construction.

As Bob Hopes says,"Tanks for the Memories". Jim

as the owner of several of the old tank models, I would get the new M series. It functions identically the same but the new M series gives you AHI and pressure avg's from the LCD display.

I'd go for the newer M series.

It's hard to see the Graphs on the "M"agic, I guess you can just guess, when the events are happening to you, after all it's just your health. Jim

I had a +M prior to getting the Remstar Auto. On the tabltop they are just different profiles. The Remstar Auto is taller and skinnier. The M is wider and flatter. The funny thing is when traveling with them (as I do every other week) in a bag they are nearly the same. That kind of surprised me as I figured the older model would be markedly larger........not really.....Both do what they were intended to do. Flip a coin.......it's win win.......

That's kind of what it's about, it hard to see graphs with info, it the display only shows numbers. AND to show nightly numbers has to be reset every day.

And yes, "M"agic is what I and a few others call the "M" model. If all you want are numbers on a little screen, You may as well go ResMed, and get that sleek design, in colored plastic. Jim
