Last night's Sleepyhead graph

Post by ephraimh » Tue May 23, 2017 1:00 pm

I am pooped. Can someone give me any feedback about this sleepyhead graph from last night. The AHI was 1.29 & 3.01 for the previous two nights and I was not the least bit tired.

Thanks

Leaks were so bad last night the machine couldn't do a decent job preventing the apneas for one thing and the other thing is the leaks were so bad that your overall sleep quality was probably in the toilet too.
It's no wonder you feel like crap.

Any suggestions for the leak? Hoses, mask, cushions are new. The leaks began when I switched from an ASV and they upped the pressure. I tested the ASV at its most recent settings. Leaks stopped but sleep was horrible. I'm going to try an F20 with a foam cushion next month when I can get a new mask. FFMs dry my mouth out horribly; pillows do the same thing on my nostrils. . I've tried 5 or 6 nasal masks and the Activa is the only one I can manipulate because of the weakness of my fingers.

Machine from Crapria. Life stinks.

thanks

I am sorry but I don't know what to offer about the mask leaks because I don't know what is causing them.
Is it mouth breathing (since you are using a nasal mask and that leaves the mouth uncover and potential for leaks) or is it mask movement that is the cause of the leaks.

This points to mouth breathing but of course there are some other causes like medication side effects or health issues.
Most common culprit though...mouth breathing.

This points to not enough moisture being added from your humidifier.

Do you experience a lot of congestion during the day so that you have to breathe through your mouth to feel like enough air is moving?
Or can you normally breathe comfortably just through your nose?

What humidity setting are you using and are you using a heated hose and if you are at what temp?
