Swift Poll

There will be 4 concurrent polls on different pillow interfaces. This is an effort to see if the chances of choosing a successful pillow interface can be improved. Please add any comments you have about the use of this interface after voting.
We will continue this poll for as long as it takes to get 25 votes unless that takes an unreasonably long time.

I LOVE it like none other!!!

Its SICK how much I love my Swift (especially after Steve's (UFO13) BRILLIANT enhancement)!

Maybe I need a shrink, huh?

P.S. To put my money where my mouth is, I got NOTHING to do with Swift, ResMed or ANY other xPAP or SDB industry sales or earnings, and I've never received ANY other inducements.

I find the Swift very comfortable when I first put it on. However, once my Auto Bipap reaches high pressures, the air pressure on my nostrils is not comfortable.

Altho I have switched to the Activa, I still recommend the Swift for people with lower pressures than mine.

See my post on the Breeze one. My failure vote is true, but probably reflects more on my own failure to tolerate CPAP than the interface itself.

In fairness to Swift, of all of the interfaces I tried, it was the one that came closest to working for me.

I registered my vote as "swift failure" not because the mask wasn't comfortable because I loved my Swift and it was the most comfortable, lightweight simple mask I have used to date. But I have mouthleak problems and wasn't able to get the mouthleaks under control with the Swift even with mouth taping or polygrip. So although I dearly loved my comfy Swift, I switched to the hybrid which completely solved my mouthleak problem and got my AHI way down low.

While I was successful with the Swift, it was not an instant success. I also no longer use the Swift because I've since found two other interfaces which work better for me.

My problems with the Swift were as follows:
- Painful until I learned how to use the pillows
- Always fixing "leaks" throughout the night
- Noisy compared to other interfaces

Nevertheless, I do consider the Swift a good reliable nasal interface, but after graduating first to the ComfortLite 2 and then the Comfort Curve, I've found that there are other interfaces which work better for me.

I'm counting mine a success in that I will be starting my 5th week on CPAP tomorrow and I have been using thet Breeze consistently and I find it works well for me. I am moving from the moderate to large pillows and initially I wasn't adjusting the pillows properly. I'm on low pressure (5) with my CPAP which may make a difference.

I cannot compare the Swift to any other mask except the Flex-Fit 407 (which I tried during my titration study and which I still have). The Flex-Fit presents significant leakage issues and comfort issues as well for me and it does not move well (and I still move from side to back to side throughout the night). This is not to say that it may be ideal for someone else.

Of course, a month from now perhaps my assessment will be different.
My insurance and DME are footing the bill (at least mostly) but I have had other alternatives as well.

As a relative newbie, I have been using the Swift. I voted it a success although I get minor leakage when I try to side-sleep.

I'm still looking for a better interface (although I have used it for about one week, I have the Hybrid on standby until I finish a full evaluation of the Swift). I also have a Breeze on order (dang it!! cpap.com folks told me again it would be here by monday as they said for last monday).

The Swift will very likely remain a reliable back-up once I find a better interface(s).

I have no real issues with my Swift. While I tend to use my Activa about 70% of the time, I find the Swift a nice alternate which I switch off to when my sinuses are doing fine. Noise is a non issue for me as I wear ear plugs, so it makes NO difference how noisy a mask is. My wife doesn't notice either. The Swift is perhaps the most leak free experience as it just stays put for me. I am a side sleeper and it's fine in that regard. The Activa is a bit on the heavy side, so once in a while I do enjoy the featherweight nature of the Swift. A great mask to have around for sure........

After trying the swift for 3 weeks back in January I never could feel comfortable with the amount of "surge" of the air coming thru the interface, and that was back when I was using 7cm. I recently tried it about 2 months ago before my Hybrid came in because I thought, "i better get used to using nasal pillows again" plus I thought where I have been using cpap since January that that I would be used to the whole pressure etc, but now that I am using 11cm (after my last sleep study in August recommended) it felt like gale force winds. Way too powerful for me to adapt to. Funny thing with the Hybrid its not, I guess because the air is distributed thru mouth and nose. Plus the barrel for the Swift seemed to get dislodged alot when I would lay on my side.

I have been using the Swift for two years and I am now having success with the CL2. It, like the Swift, took patience and tweaking and patience and tweaking...but I am glad that there is now an alternative.

I marked it as a failure although the Swift wasn't a total failure for me, but I didn't like the feature where you had to choose which side to place the hose connector on as I like the freedom the Breeze offers of being able to switch from one side to the other without having the inconvenience of the connector hose to hinder you.
