This morning as I check stats from previous night, my PR DreamStation APAP machine tells me I had 100% mask fit. As I transfer the data over to SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-2, this was the Welcome Message:
The last time you used your Philips Respironics Auto CPAP...was last night (on Sunday, May 21, 2017)
You had an AHI of 3.26, which is considered technically "treated"
You machine was on for 8 hours, 16 minutes and 18 seconds.
You had significant periods of major mask leakage.
Your pressure was under 11.8cmH2O for 90% of the time.
How can I get 100% mask fit on DreamStation and "significant periods of major mask leakage" on SleepyHead?
I started using CPAP on Feb 10, 2017. This difference in Mask Fit results between DreamStation and SleepyHead has occured several times since.
This is my first post ever and I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge on this site. Thank you.

Re: 100% Mask Fit Discrepancy
SleepyHead is reporting excess leak calculated for ResMed leak numbers and not Respironics.
ResMed red line excess leak threshold is much lower than Respironics leak threshold.
Go to Preferences the CPAP tab and look on the right for the leak threshold stuff...SleepyHead defaults to the ResMed leak threshold of 24 L/min and your machine reports leaks a bit differently with a different threshold.
Either turn that feature off by removing the check mark for "show time over red line" or change the "red line threshold" to something more in line with your Respironics machine. Respironics never gives us an exact "red line" threshold number because it can vary quite a bit between mask used and pressures used but something along the lines of 50 or 60 L/min would be in line and still be fairly conservative.
Or just ignore what SH says if you don't see any large leak flags on the Events graph....see the LL on the top of the Events graph? That is for large leak and if your machine isn't reporting any large leaks or flagging them then it doesn't matter what SleepyHead says.
Your choice what you want to do to ease your mind. SleepyHead is scaring you and it's scaring you with something that is based on an incorrect baseline calculation number because it uses a ResMed number. I suspect if the machine is showing 100% fit and there are no large leak flags on the Events graph that you aren't leaking very much at all and certainly within the machine's ability to compensate and not worth worrying about as long as you aren't waking up from leaks. Any leak that wakes us up needs to be worked on from the sleep quality stand point no matter how big or how small.

Re: 100% Mask Fit Discrepancy
I changed my "red line threshold" to 60 L/min and now the Welcome Message reads:
You had no major mask leaks (maximum was 34.00 L/min).
Thank you Pugsy.
I consider myself very lucky to be 100 days into my CPAP treatment and have pretty much a 100% mask fit.

Re: 100% Mask Fit Discrepancy
Maximum leak of 34 L/min on a Respironics machine is minimal leak period..much less anywhere near large leak territory.
You would most likely need to almost triple that before the machine would flag a large leak and quadruple it before the machine wouldn't be able to compensate for it.
And even if you did as long as it was just a brief period in large leak it's not the end of the world.
I really wish that Mark (who wrote SleepyHead) hadn't made the default leak red line to the ResMed number. He's inadvertently scared the bejeezus out of a lot of Respironics users and/or caused them to do all sorts of extraordinary things in order to fix a leak that never was bad in the first place. It's caused undue stress and anxiety to some people and this cpap therapy is stressful enough (especially to newbies) without making up something that isn't there.
