I saw the Air Mini this week and it looks amazing!
Re: I saw the Air Mini this week and it looks amazing!
Other than a pre-order special pricing, the Airmini plus a matching mask is $2,300 Australian dollars.
In other words the same price as a full size Airsense 10 Autoset with the humidifier. Typical price gouging by Resmed.
Unless you travel a lot the price is not justified. I just carry my Airsense in its bag as "free" carry on when I fly twice a year.

Which pillow type?Cardsfan wrote:It is supposed to work with 3 masks. All Resmed, 1 nasal, 1 full face, and one 1pillow type. I believe when you order the machine, it comes with your mask of choice.

Later on, I "might" look for the knock-off.
If I get lucky, you folks will be the next to know.

What is the tubing like? Is it the typical bulky tube, or did they find a way to make it as compact as the machine? I've wondered that, since the tube takes up about as much space as the actual machine in my current CPAP travel bag!!

The only reason I can think of that only the supplied masks would work is the coupling to the machine. If this is the case it would be an easy work around.

Oh Boy!! Go to http://www.resmed.com home page shows a lot of updated info. and videos and the air mini. Looks wonderful.

Re: I saw the Air Mini this week and it looks amazing!
Pricing in Australia is $1890. So about $100 less than the Airsense 10 Autoset. Price includes.
• 1 x ResMed AirMini Autoset machine in White
• 1 x ResMed AirFit P10 Nasal pillow mask
• 1 x ResMed AirFit P10 mask setup kit
• 1 x HumidX and 1 x HumidX Plus waterless humidification capsules
• 1 x Premium Travel Case
Similar options at same price for Airfit N20 and Airfit F20.
Blurb says:
It has CPAP, APAP or APAP for her modes using the same algorithms used in ResMed’s AirSense 10.
At this stage a battery isn’t available for the AirMini. However, ResMed are working to have an external battery available later in 2017.
DC-DC converter to be available "soon".
Humidifier cartridges have to be replaced 30 days after opening (even if not used) and are priced at $25 for 6. No humidification available for full face masks.
I suspect will be much cheaper in the US.

They have the instructions to enter Clinical setup mode to program it.

Connect the grey end of the air tubing to the machine.
Adding optional waterless humidification
(for AirFit N20 or AirFit P10 for AirMini only):
To use the optional HumidX™ or HumidX Plus, twist open the connector.
Insert the HumidX or HumidX Plus inside with the coloured side facing down towards the tube.
Close the connector by twisting its ends back together until they lock into place.

Some people suffering from the "de lure of de machine" syndrome here
How does the machine know what mask you are using if you are only supposed to be using Resmed masks? That is kind of scary and an immediate no go for me.
And how does waterless humidification work?
Got to love the Aussies, even the Doctor Oz has signed up

The only way is to have a non standard connector that will only take their masks. If that's not the case you can use any mask you like I suppose.Uncle_Bob wrote:Some people suffering from the "de lure of de machine" syndrome here

Was told by my supplier that the Air Mini would be orderable on 05/16/2017, but unsure when it would ship.

I watched the full launch and have to say I am so annoyed with how obstructive sleep apnea was presented.Uncle_Bob wrote:

Dr Oz beat the drum for how obesity/being overweight leads to OSA (mentioned the Pickwickian syndrome) and that losing weight can reverse OSA.
Only in response to a question from the audience did Dr Oz mention that substantial numbers of thin women also have OSA.
I wish that the editor from Elle magazine (Rachael Combe) who recently wrote about her diagnosis of moderate OSA could have been one of the people interviewed, this would have balanced the approach, and shown some diversity. Not two guys who looked like twins.

I note no rubber feet on the machine to keep it from sliding off one's nightstand.
Also, how can there not be US pricing available yet???

I was thinking the same, but there is an optional additional accessory called the "airmini mount system" which actually looks quite good.Little Wing wrote:I note no rubber feet on the machine to keep it from sliding off one's nightstand.
Allows you to have it hang off the side of the bed, off the side or a drawer, or affixed to the wall (and presumably tabletop too).
