Airsense 10 Autoset
Airsense 10 Autoset
New member and new cpap user, as in 5 days in. I am using the Airsense 10 Autoset with full face mask and mouthpiece to keep mouth closed. My sleep study showed 70 events per hour, each night I have used cpap average 6 events per hour. My energy is still off, but that is probably until I get more comfortable sleeping with equipment on, for now I will take comfort in knowing my internal health is improving. Anyone else used the Airsense 10 Autoset? I am confused about it features. I understand the Ramp feature, basically takes it easy for first 20 minutes then begins climbing pressure up to my prescribed number. I thought the auto part meant that throughout the night it was calibrating how much pressure I need an adjust accordingly, but this wouldn't seem true for when I awake sometimes the pressure has been full force and I can't get back to sleep. I also notice over the last few nights the pressure has not increased to what I consider full force, very mild and wondering if something is not working. Thanks

Re: Airsense 10 Autoset
What are your settings? Runaway pressure commonly happens at default settings (5-20)
I tighten mine down to a couple cm below and above my titrated pressure.
Ramp and EPR are comfort settings use/adjust them as YOU need them.
Someone will provide a link to the REAL manual, as the booklet sent with your machine is nearly useless.

I believe the clinical manual is here.
https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf
The link says "for her" but the manual is for other models too.

When in CLINICAL, put it in PLUSS mode. That will give you extra data in the morning without having to take the memory card out and reading it all the time.

Using the link above to get to the clinical manual, go to page 10 and you'll find a good explanation of the Ramp feature. Most of us turn the Ramp off because, depending on your range of therapy pressures, the ramp may start at such a low pressure that you feel like you're not getting enough air.
