Painful bloating

Post by Christine673 » Mon Apr 10, 2017 1:46 am

Hi all. I've been using CPAP for just under 3 weeks. Nasal pillows, chin strap, built in humidifier and automatic pressure. According to the machine read outs everything is working as it should - including mask seal. I DO feel better. Much more energy. But This is the 3rd time that I've woken with PAINFUL bloating. The first time was 6 days ago. I woke with my alarm and was functional just extremely uncomfortable until I succeeded in passing all of the gas. The second time - 5 days ago - I was in debilitating pain. Felt as though I may vomit, curled on the bathroom floor kind of pain. And today, didn't even make it until my alarm went off. Woke 3 hours early feeling as though I may explode- literally. 3am and I'm doing yoga trying desperately to reduce the amount of air in my gi tract.

This is defeating the purpose of my getting sleep. Please help!!!

Put "aerophagia" into the forum search bar and you'll see lots and lots of info...

Due to routing of our "pipes", I have found that sleeping primarily on the left side helps.
Also standing up and walking, taking a cool sip of water, or mint tea helps as well.
Mine still returns on occasion, and standing up or taking a few stair steps releases the excess "swamp gas".
I try to get out of the bedroom to keep the bullfrog from thinking something may have died.
