I custom built my own mattress (similar to the Casper design) with 3 slabs of 2" perforated latex foam (similar to pic below), each with a different density so that I could stack them in different combinations to adjust for different levels of firmness. I had a custom cover made for it ... almost time to have the cover replaced but the mattress itself is over 15 years old now and still just as comfortable as it was when new.

Now to wait for all the hostile comments to roll in about how latex can kill people and causes global warming and attracts rodents and makes people who eat it have stomach problems and on and on and on ....
What a brilliant idea; where did you find the correct foams and latex?
Sorry. It was over 15 years ago and I don't remember where I purchased the foam slabs. It was an online mattress business that offered custom mattresses and toppers -- and I contacted them about just selling the latex slabs cut to my specific dimensions and they said sure. I remember that it was all natural Talalay Latex slabs which were perforated with air holes like in the picture -- and they had different densities which provided different levels of firmness. Since I didn't know what firmness to get, I got one of each and experimented with stacking them in different combinations.

Then I had a local seamstress make me a custom cover made out of thick heavy duty blue jean denim fabric with a long zipper that went half way around the edge so that I could stuff the latex slabs in it and zip them up. I had also ordered a memory foam topper too but got rid of it after the first few months because it was just too hot. But the 3-layer foam mattress is still just as comfortable as when I first got it and has lasted longer than I thought it would. Whenever I've moved, I just roll it up with a blanket over the outside and tie with web tie-down straps ... then just roughly man-handle it and/or roll it around to where I need to move it (it is a bit heavy -- maybe 150 to 200 lbs?). I meant to build a wooden platform bed frame for it but never got around to it -- so I've used it on the floor futon-style for all these years.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Yeah and if he upgrades his marketing and sneaks the link in the signature line the big orange button will swoop down immediately and "poof" it will be gone.

I sent Carolyn a note...so I will wait to see what she says about it.

How do you properly test a mattress? I guess see if it's comfortable and make sure it has a return policy? I sleep on a cheap memory foam mattress now. I think maybe that is causing my chronic fatigue.

I agree about the mattress. Just bought a WinkBed. Got the Firm and it's a hybrid bed (foam and coils). It's by far the best bed I've ever owned. I"m 6'3" 280lbs. I am a side sleeper and the edges of this mattress does not collapse and give me the feeling of falling out. I am in absolute love with this mattress.
