Still snoring with CPAP on, newbie here

If you are interested in making your own mask liners, here is a link to where I got the pattern I used for my mask liners when I was using the Simplus:

I made my liners out of an old well-worn tee shirt. My wife crocheted a small bag with a drawstring on it. We throw the liners in the bag and put it in with the whites when we do laundry. We then iron the masks dry after they are laundered. The pattern will work with either a small or medium sized mask. It can be enlarged to fit a large mask.

Okie bipap what a great idea! I love thrifty! Ill keep this in mind if this turns out to be on of the issues. Thx!

You did that download and post pretty quickly. Need to resize the graphs some so we can see them. The top events graph needs to be larger so we can see the different types of events. You can resize by grabbing the line between the graphs. And you can reorder the graphs by grabbing the graph label area and dragging them.These are most helpful:
Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Snore
Flow Limit

One more thing the pie chart on the left isn't helpful and blocks needed info. Go to the file tab at the top left then Preferences - Appearance and uncheck Show event Breakdown Pie Chart

It shows you how to get into your setup menu and make changes to your settings with a lot of other info about your machine. At a fixed pressure of 6 it looks pretty obvious that you may need an increase. I want to wait for suggestions until I see a better screenshot. In Sleepyhead look back several days and see if your AHI is about the same with Hypopneas and RERAS your main events. Do you know why they gave you an Autoset and put you on CPAP? Did they ever try an auto setting?

If you want to wait, you can work on this tomorrow. I understand.
We do need the left side turned back on just not the pie chart. And if you look at the bottom of the screen where it says Flags. I see Red and we need all of them to be green so go through them and click them all to green, that way they will show on the Event Flags graph.

We don't need both pressure graph and mask pressure graph. So move the Mask Pressure graph down below the ones we need to see.

All this will get easier and I think we can help you to have better therapy.
You asked about the DME monitoring your machine. Usually they are concerned about compliance (your use of the machine) because of insurance requirements for payment, and they think anything less than 5 AHI is treated. Although most of us like our AHI to be 2 or less. If you decide to change your pressures be aware that they have the ability to change them back over the air. So you will need to watch for that.

there has been several mask changes so far so you can get an idea from a few photos.
I also changed my pressure setting from 6 to 6.4 last night and slept on my back (last img) to see if that would help rid me of snoring as i snore on my back still so my wife says it maybe seems to have helped a bit? Would you leave it here or go a bit higher since there is still a tad of snoring? and how do i tell the study place i want it left there lol, i guess i will have to reveal i have hijacked their machine lol

please let me know if I have failed once again to get this right for you. I use a cell phone 100 percent of time so this laptop is all new to me. its been a learning experience for sure.

Leave the pressure at 6.4 for the time being and work on the leaks.
You can't really measure 6.4 effectiveness ideally with this amount of leak.
This little bit of snore I wouldn't worry about as long as you slept through it but the leaks are so bad at times we don't know if nothing happened or the machine just missed it. Maybe there was more snoring going on but the machine just missed it. We don't know and have no way to confirm one way or the other.

A little bit of large leak is not that big of a deal but yours last night was a lot more than a "little bit".

So this might be why they have extended my trial period. but have given no feedback on why! I don't feel they explain things hence me having to figure this all out myself

To be blunt, I NEVER believe anyone should be on CPAP.

The airway can collapse at precisely the end of inhale, which is when most apnea occurs anyway from what i read.

I was on cpap, had good numbers, and was still having bad apneas.

Sleeping on your back will actually increase your snoring and apnea due to gravity on the tongue so I can see why that experiment failed last night. Once your therapy is optimized you should be able to sleep in any position that you are comfortable.

Thx! Lol, it took a long while this am to get them right. So glad I did finally!

I have had several masks. My mask I'm currently loaned is an F&P Simplus. I'm on a loaner machine until get insurance figured out and supply enough data to them, which is another thing I'm concerned about now is how to properly get what I need, no more, no less dealing with the DME. Is there a link you guys refer out to how not to get screwed?
