ResMed Data Management Help Needed

With a ResLink, the ResMed S7 Elite and autoset machines write several data files to a SmartCard. With a card reader, these can be easily moved to a PC. Using MS Excel, I am able to interpret and use most of the data, without needing ResMed's proprietary software.

I no longer have access to a ResLink, but I do have a null modem cable to connect my machine to my PC. I've not been able to configure my PC to communicate successfully with the CPAP machine, and access these files.

Does anyone know how to do it? Does anyone know if it's possible without the ResLink or ResMed software? Does anyone know how the ResMed software configures a PC to communicate across a null modem cable? Thanks.
