[quote="CollegeGirl"]Can someone who has seen the Respironics battery packs speak to how they function?
Do you leave it plugged into your AC outlet, plug your machine into it, and just not worry about it, and it picks up the slack when there's no power? Or....?
Thanks.

This is the one that I got.
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/APC-UPS- ... tDetail.do
It has 8 outlets that are surge protected and 4 outlets that have backup power. It fits nicely under the bed, and the price was right. It doesn't cover outages longer than about an hour, but I figure that it takes care of at least 95% of them, and the switchover is automatic.

I believe you are wrong. Respironics makes only one model.Wulfman wrote:But from what I saw, there are a couple of models (one is in that price range)......I was trying to compare "apples to apples" (model numbers).Vader wrote:Actually, I've seen it elsewhere for a lot less ($330)Wulfman wrote:Why spend $500.00 when you can get the same thing at CPAP.COM for $399.00 ???
Here's the apples you were seeking :

This wouldn't be the first time.
BUT.....
What I was going by (last night) was the numbers AFTER the part number. Here's the link that was posted last night:
http://www.cpapplus.com/Machines/Access ... _Pack.html
They're showing 3 variations.....Plain number, a "-1 battery kit for CPAP" and a "-2 battery kit for Bi-PAP"
On CPAP.COM:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... -pack.html
The way I read it was this way....
Part Number 1028869: 2
It also listed the Bi-PAP machines as being able to use it.
I just did a search for the part number on Respironics' website and came up with NOTHING, so I couldn't even check to see how many variations they make.
On the other hand......
I found that CPAP.COM has (or will have shortly) other battery packs under their own brand for about $269.99.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage-advanced.php?PNum=2299
So, in summary, I guess there's a number of battery packs available from various sources at all different prices.
And that's all I have to say about that......
Best wishes,

Wulfman, I was just addressing this link that you posted:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... -pack.html
and I mentioned that there was a cheaper price (of the EXACT same model) here:
http://www.cpapstation.com/catalog/r_10028869_0.shtm
So, just for the record, this IS a direct comparison of "apples to apples"

I didn't/don't take time to check all of the suppliers. And, since I'm not looking for a battery backup, I was just comparing the site that was posted (and then removed) last night to CPAP.COM.
