When I googled the model number I got hits for the old Legacy series Pro and Auto....not sure why.
Since you mentioned "remstar auto"...I am going to assume those are the words you are seeing on the machine.
It probably looks like this and is what we call the "Legacy" series. Unsure how it got that name but everyone who knows these machines knows what we are referring to. Also referred to as "the tank" because they are work horses.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... cflex.html

At the apneaboard I think that if you request the last one of these 3 you should be set....assuming that is the machine you have.
Respironics REMstar Auto (not the "M" series, not the PR System One)
Respironics REMstar Auto with C-flex (not the "M" series, not the PR System One)
Respironics REMstar Auto M / REMstar Pro M (Complete manuals, not just the setup - Combined Manual covers both machines)
At the website there is a quick setup guide also but I strongly urge people get the full manual because there's a lot more information available.

It's a machine that was discontinued probably 10 years ago.

In order to get data from that machine it uses a Smart Card (credit card size) not a SD Card. And a special reader to get the data off the card. It will be difficult to titrate without data. You may be able to find the card and reader if you don't have one but I'm not sure I would invest much into a machine that old.

It's an old REMstar Auto

search.php?keywords=1014572

These instructions should get you into the setup.
If there is no C-Flex, ignore that portion of the instructions. (Some of these machines were made before C-Flex)
CFLE refers to CPAP with C-Flex and AFLE refers to APAP with C-Flex
If there is no CPAP mode, you can set the minimum and maximum pressures to the same number to get that therapy mode.

When in the Setup Menu, the humidifier ^ and ramp v buttons operate as up and down keys to change the settings, the left/right user buttons < > allow you to go to the previous/next question or setting, and the pressure start/stop button is used to exit the Setup Menu. Holding the humidifier or ramp buttons down will cause the values to change more quickly.

To enter the Therapy Setup Menu, hold the two top user buttons < > down while plugging in the power cord.
Continue holding the buttons down until the REMstar Auto w/C-Flex beeps twice.

Note: The word "setup" will appear on all of the screens indicating that you are in the Therapy Setup Menu.
(If you press the Pressure start/stop button, you will exit the Setup Menu.)

It won't work with a cheap reader - I had to write to China to get mine years ago and I'm not sure where you'd get one now, but it won't be at Walmart. I won't work with Sleepyhaed, but with Encore or Encore II.

Those older models that took that smart card about the size of a credit card
used a special reader. Those readers are both hard to find and if you find one
will probably run you $50 or more. So unless you have this special reader I don't
see how you would know if your card was bad, Then if you get a reader and a
card you would need a copy of Encore as SleepyHead doesn't support these older
models. These older models did record a lot of data but not near as much as the
newer fully data capable ones.

This is the only card reader that will work with the smart cards.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Respir ... r-USB.html
It ain't cheap.

New cards are available
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... -card.html

I can help with the software as long as you have a Windows computer and it won't cost you anything.

OK thank you for heads up!
What I mean by cheap is scrounging around several areas & seeing what I can find.
