Waited six months for a new mask, still waiting

Post by AshG » Sun Dec 11, 2016 10:31 am

I moved from East TN to Southern Mississippi to work on my doctorate. Everything was gravy back home. New supplies like clockwork, calls to check and see how things were going, etc.

Down here has been nothing like that, and now I've got corporate involved and their taking their sweet time.

I began the process of transferring my account from one office to the other in June of this year. Same company, so you'd figure it would just take a couple button presses. Apparently that's not how it works. Even calling this company's corporate care line and being nice about things hand gotten any motion going; billing is still "converting" my account - it's December now!

What can I say to the business office to get my supplies? My man is almost dead at this point and is horribly leaky. Six months is way too long to wait for all of this.

I'm having problems with my DME, as well, here in SW VA. I'm looking to find a new DME and maybe that would be an option for you as well.
I'm an hour's drive from the SE TN area, so that's where I'm planning to locate a new DME. It sounds like the one you had in TN was a great one.
I would be grateful if you would please share their info.
I hope you get some results soon from your new DME. If they are like mine, they will hinder you at every turn.

Call your insurance company and report them. Find a new DME. In the meantime, buy a replacement mask online either from an online retailer (they all have deals with free shipping right now) or through Craigslist or Ebay.

Check with your insurance to see what DMEs are in network. Find someone that cares. Why not name the company that you are currently working with...others here have probably had the same problems. What mask/supplies are you looking for?

Ask your E Tenn. office to ship you a new mask.

Since I've been asked, the DME is Lincare. I've spent the last month calling the iCare hotline and have been told "It's been sent to billing, we'll know something by the end of the week." Last week, I was promised a personal returned phone call by end of business on Friday. Still waiting.

I called my original service center in Morristown, TN (they were amazing!) and they've told me my account has been transferred out so they can't send me any equipment. The Hattiesburg, MS office has told me that my account hasn't been transferred in so they can't send me any equipment.

This is so fun. Working on doctoral school with crappy sleep. I may have to sell some things to buy a mask online.

E-bay has masks ans parts. If you can't afford a new mask, maybe you can just order the parts you need.

I looked at your profile and Cpap.com has the replacement kit for it for $68
or if you post the model here perhaps someone has one you could have or of cource
there is Ebay. I know to some of us that's a lot of money but it's an option till you
get your DME thing cleared up.

I get all my supplies on e-bay, for barely more than the co-pay Lincare gets.
