Fisker & Paykel 234 30 day sleep compliance report

Post by offshoreguy » Wed Nov 16, 2016 11:51 am

Hi, just joined the forum and have been looking all over the internet for help with this issue. I've had my CPAP for over 3 years, this is my second machine as the first died after being 7 years old. I'm trying to finish a physical for a new job and they need me to get them a 30 day compliance record. My problem is finding a provider where I live at that can help me do this. Apparently they quit making the data disk and cable for this device 2 years ago. I've downloaded sleepyhead. If I can find the cable will it be able to get the files and let me print out the report?

Your machine is, I believe, a SleepStyle model. From what I have been able to find, it may be that only the ICON series is compatible with SleepyHead. If I am wrong, it might work. Your further problem is the cable. It seems to be lost in combat - the only thing I might suggest is contacting F&P directly. If you are in the US, contact: https://www.fphcare.com/distributor-directory/
If you have a computer that does not have a serial port, you will also need a serial to USB adapter. The cable is relatively simple (the end that connects to the 234 appears to be a common stereo audio mini plug), so it is also possible to have a cable made if you can learn the pin assignment in the serial plug. If you are not in the US, go to: https://www.fphcare.com/our-company/con ... ountry=all to find your correct contact (in the "select specialty" box pick "Sleep Apnea")

I can get the cable, found a place online in North Carolina that will sale me the cable. Problem is the software. Just called Fisher & Paykel, they will not sale me the software, its only for providers. I've been calling everyone around where I live and not getting any luck at all. I could;d even make the cable if I could get the schematics, its only a 9 pin, to a what looks like an audio cable, 9 pin should be pins 2 and 3 with 7 the ground. Just not sure about the other end. Sadly this is getting ridiculous as I feel like I'm being punished for having an older machine.

Will they provide you with a list of providers to whom they have sold the software? If you are anywhere near Houston TX, you may find some help at the Memorial Hermann Sleep Center http://www.memorialhermann.org/sleep/. If you can find a provider with the software, they may be cooperative enough to help you with copying the data to an SD card from which they could work. Failing all else, you might contact CPAP.COM to see if they have a copy floating around or be able to assist you in finding one (see: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/fisher ... atures-tab)

I called CPAP.com, they don't have it anymore. Sadly this is who I bought my last machine from. I'm now calling places that are 60 miles away from me now as no one here in town has the ability to help me. This just keeps getting ridiculous.

I know nothing at all about this website so download at your own risk.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B8S ... _lvKE/edit
But the Compliance Maximizer software is what is used with the SleepStyle machines.
and this one for the full data machines
http://performancemaximizer2-1.software ... /download/
and again...I know nothing about either of these websites...download at your own risk.
Performance Maximizer is a bitch to install and use...I did it once a long time ago to help someone figure out how to use it.
It's on a computer that long ago died so I can't get you my copy or I would.

I don't know how much the cables are going to cost...but if they are very expensive you might want to re-evaluate things and get a newer cpap machine that has free easy to obtain and use software available.

Like a gently used ResMed S9 Elite or AutoSet or PR System One PRO or auto cpap Respironics machine...slightly older models but still very good they are better machines than what you have right now.
Forum member grayghost4 has some slightly used machines for not much money. Send him a Private Message to find out what he has now and how much.

Knowing what I know about the F &P software...if money permits get a newer machine so you can not only get better quality data...the software is free and easy to use for both ResMed and Respironics.

I found a clinic about 60 miles away that will do what I need for 75$, my problem with a new machine is I would have to use it for 30 days before I could pas this physical that I need for this job. I've been unemployed for 10 weeks now and my industry ( Oil & Gas) is not doing very well to say the least. Once I get on my feet again I will look into getting a newer model machine that will prevent this stuff from happening. I just hate that my favorite CPAP machine is not easy to get the data from.

I understand.
Do what you have to do now to get the new job. When money permits...really consider getting a "newer" machine. Come back here...you never know what someone will be wanting to get rid of real cheap.
Good luck to you and in your new job.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2263460/fp_software.zip This works for 254. I don't know if it will work for 234.

I found these sites earlier but Malwarebytes reported the first as linking to the second and the second as being a malicious website. So, to quote Pugsy: "...at your own risk."

I didn't get far enough to scan anything but I was leery for sure. I saw they offered a download and promptly exited.
That's why twice the warning to "at your own risk"...I use Malwarebytes but only for scanning downloads and not real time website stuff.

Since he found a DME within driving distance who will generate the report for him for $75....probably the best thing right now since he would have to purchase the cables to use the software IF he could get his hands on a clean download.
Even if the cables were a little less dollar wise...that software is a bitch to try to use and I don't advise anyone trying to use it unless they simply have no other choice and some pretty significant computer/software skills to boot.
