He has been using one for a long time.
AB filters can be used with humidifiers..they just might need to be changed more often.

I use one too. My AB filter is attached to the Trilogy with a short hose directly to the humidifier. Then my mask hose come from the other humidifier port to the mask.

AB filters are DESIGNED to be used in a moist environment. Be sure to replace when advised.

If you had ever used one you would not make that comment.

Maintenance and Care

The length of use of the bacterial filter varies between users and environments. The filter should be replaced when there is debris seen on the white filter material. It is easy to see the condition of the filter through the clear acrylic globe. Replace the filter when it becomes discolored. If the bacteria filter becomes very dirty or wet, machine performance may be affected.

Heated humidifiers can cause water to collect in the filter chamber, thus clogging the filter and adversely affecting therapy. If wet, remove the filter from the machine and set out to dry. Dry time may vary.

A little reading and less badgering could go along way to helping people.

AB filters can be used in between blower and humidifier...
between humidifier and long hose...between the end of a heated hose (if someone doesn't want to lose the heated hose function) and the mask.

They just need to know that the moisture from the humidifier could potentially clog up the filter and they either need to change it out or remove it and let it dry out because it could result in a loss of pressure when clogged.
Easily remedied.

Besides...not everyone who uses a humidifier will be cranking out maximum moisture...maybe they use it in passover mode...maybe they use it without any water for noise buffering...maybe they use it with very minimal added moisture.
Lots of variables here...and a blanket statement that AB filters can't be used with humidifiers simply isn't true.

When I first got the Trilogy, it came with an Antibacterial Filter. Nobody told me about changing it and I used the same filter for about 9 months without changing it. Gross doesn't begin to cover how it looked.

I added the humidifier a few months later. I change the AB filter once a month and it's pretty gray by then. I don't use maximum moisture and have no clue if it gets wet. We found that changing them once a month is about right.

My husband uses a cpap and we have an AB filter on his as well. And yes, he uses a humidifier too. We change his filter on the same schedule as mine.

And also review the comments posted by people who bought and used these filters on the very same page you linked. Maybe you can post your "personal experience" there then call them names and tell then how wrong they are.
