What do you "veterans" do for dry nasal passages? I'm a newbie so haven't made a whole night yet but one reason I remove the cpap is my nose hurts from the dryness. I don't have a humidifier but live in Hawaii where the humidity is fairly high. My nose stays sore for the whole day and then it's time to dry it up again at night! HELP!

Even if the humidity is high where you live, if you have dry nasal passages, a humidifier could help. What sort of mask are you using? If you're using any sort of of nasal mask or nasal pillows, you could also be mouth breathing. Fill us in a little more - what mask do you use, what machine, and what pressure you're prescribed - and maybe we can help a little more.

Nasal Dryness
I am anew user as well (3 weeks now), and use the nasal pillows. It was great until a week ago when I was experiencing some sores on the inner part of my nares. I now rub a little bacitracin (or any antibiotic salve) on the inside of my nose before bed, and once I wake up. Since I did that, everthing is great. There is another OTC product sold here in the states called Aquaphor, which is like vaseline but better moisture. I work in radiation Oncology and we use that for all of our patients with skin issues. Good luck!

I've had great success with AYR GELLl, or any SALINE SPRAY OR GELL.
Worked wonders for me, and inexpensive, especially store brand.

There are some parts of Hawaii that aren't all that humid.....like the west shores of Maui.
Even if you use a humidifier in cool/"passover" mode, it'll still give you some humidification. You can still use a heated humidifier in non-heated mode, too.
Go with a humidifier.
What type of mask are you using? Are you sure that that isn't the source of your nasal irritation?
Best wishes,
Den
