plugged ears x2 years. anyone have problems

Post by janglas » Tue Oct 11, 2016 6:33 pm

I have worn CPAP fo 13 years .. had virus 2 1/2 yrs ago and ears have been plugged since .. I had no nasal drainage for 1 1/2 yrs. so you know my head was stuffy. I have been to 3 audiologist, 3 ent, have lost 45% of hearing . I still think the hearing is alright because it comes and goes. If its my hearing ,it would be the same all the time IMHO..Wear hearing aid ..sometimes help one ear but not the other. Has anyone had any thing this ridulicious..if so what did you do?. and can it be rectified?. Pl ease help. I read on a blog years ago of a fellow complaining like my symptoms and was threatening using an air compressor.. ( don't think I will try that) Maybe some one can give me some advise. I take vitamin D3 6,000, and Vit c 4,000

Anything inserted in the ear like a hearing aid will tend to increase wax build up. Did any of the audioligists check this?

You're taking a huge amount of vitamins... have you ever tried stopping them for any length of time (long enough to be sure their effect has mostly worn off) just in case they might have some unexpected effect - you can always start them again in future if you think they've actually helped.

I have to disagree, 6000 iu of D3 and 4000 iu of C is not a huge amount for either of those IMO. I doubt they are having an effect but I suppose anything is possible.

Go to a university, teaching, audiology lab.
You need smarter doctors.

I also have the same problem, and take about the same level of both vit. My hearing returns in 15 minutes of getting up. The background noise however remains high. I have been around high sound levels for 40 years. Jim

I don't use hearing aids, and don't have a problem living with it.

In over 12 years of wearing a hearing aid on only one side, I have noticed the exact opposite.
My good ear always has a bit more gunk than the one protected by my hearing aid.
My audiologist agrees that this is usually the case, because the aid helps keep the ear canal clean.
I cannot speak for anyone who fails to clean the ear canal before inserting the aid.
