Trach not working

Post by sickwithapnea17 » Sun Oct 02, 2016 1:56 pm

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Sleep-Apne ... how/746556

I'm just in despair that the trach hasn't worked after 2 months, here's some proof that it doesn't work in a possible central apnea patient.

I'm on a shiley 4mm today and feeling foggy still but better than on the shiley fenestrated 8mm. Maybe it allows me to breathe through the mouth and nose being a smaller tube. Or it could be the oxygen at the ER yesterday.
I was taking klonopin for central apneas and sleeping on a trach oxygen mask and I still don't have clarity or energy after 2 months. I notice that as soon as I put the trach in the passage that my nose clogs up. I don't know if it helps to have some space in a cuffless trach to breathe through the nose and mouth.

In the end, this is a Cpap forum, not a trach forum, not whatever else you've tried or contemplated, and we aren't really in a position to help you. You didn't take help when you were on Cpap, though we tried, and now you're somewhere else altogether. We can't help you... talk to other doctors if necessary.

why would you think it would make any difference at all for a central apnea patient. that's people that aren't breathing on their own with no blockage.

A peer reviewed test one? Did you get a second opinion?

Did you bother to follow instructions before and after surgery? You couldn't be bothered to follow any suggestion to make cpap therapy work for you. Should we discuss Hydrogen peroxide?

Well I've gone through 2 months of pain and bleeding and severe coughing with more pain without any benefit. the ENT actually thinks I only have centrals which contradicts the sleep study showing mixed apnea, OSA+CSA. so the ENT wants me to go back to ASV, but I had such severe fog on ASV+oxygen that I couldn't work or study

do you have any understanding at all about the difference between an ASV, which forces air into you, and a hole in your throat?

SWA...I know it would be nice if all your questions could be answered on this forum. Thing is, none of us are doctors, which you already know. I would like to think that your team of doctors could answer your questions, and advocate on your behalf.

My best to you going forward.

well I tried ASV with oxygen and it didn't seem to work. I was impaired by heavy fog. they found my soft palate collapsing up into my nose which may have prevented the ASV from forcing air into my lungs.
I tried ASV alone for a few months and I had an amara mask that tore after 3 months and then I switched to fit life and I became really weak and couldn't hear or talk well and my brain was damaged so that I couldn't process speech. Speech sounded like a blur because I couldn't process it.

Your brain is still damaged, very, and you're just babbling gibberish.

Were you diagnosed with purely Central Sleep Apnea, or mixed (both Obstructive and Central)?

reading is haaard, and besides, he doesn't have time to actually read through threads, he's said so in the past.

all he wants to do is pop in, drop a turd, and hobble off.
