Before autoinjectors, many people died.
If that were your CHILD, why would you take a chance?

Granny, you are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. Nowhere did I say don't use this device. I even said if I needed the medication and could afford the Epipen, I would use it. I have only been disparaging of the price and noting that it is not the only option in town. Even the Epipen directions tell you to use a syringe and vial if their dose is not correct for you.ChicagoGranny wrote:But, your technical acumen is great enough that you can offer advice in life-and-death matters?flightco wrote:I forgot how to embed a picture
I don't generally find you to make rude and untruthful comments but I can't say that this time.
As for technical acumen, I very seldom post pictures on this site, probably not in the last year and it just did not seem worth the effort to look it up. If anyone wanted to see the IFU for the EpiPen, it was an easy click away.

CF, please point out where I said I would take a chance. As I said more than one time, if I could afford it, I would use it. If I could not afford it I would not hesitate to have a needle and vial around and make sure anyone caring for my son knows how to use it.chunkyfrog wrote:Before autoinjectors, many people died.

Well, that is not true. You called the Epipen "a solution to a problem that doesn't exist".flightco wrote:I have only been disparaging of the price

Re: OT: Need an affordable Epi autoinjector?
You are right about my comment but I wasn't saying the Epi is not a good device I did say I would use it if needed and I could afford it. (I sometimes us an auto injector for insulin, still draw the insulin but when I push a button it sticks me and I push the plunger) I was talking about how Mylan bought an existing somewhat reasonably priced product and used lobbyists to lobby our corrupt congress (do you know the CEOs father is a democratic congressman (or at one time was)). She completely worked the system to make this a must have product in schools, public places, etc. Once she did this, she raised the price 450%. When I was talking a problem that didn't exist I was talking about the Mylan story and how our dirty Congress assisted her in all but making it a law to have an EpiPen and expanding the profits of Mylan beyond reason.ChicagoGranny wrote:Well, that is not true. I realize I sometimes type too fast and when looking back see that my message was not clearly articulated. I work a demanding full time job and have a 7 year old, my time in front of the computer is like a bathroom break, I catch it when I can and often have to hurry it.
