Dry Mouth
Re: Dry Mouth
I have a problem with dry mouth also. My mouth falls open while sleeping and air circulates in my mouth drying it out. Also open mouth causes saliva to break the seal on my mask, As a result, I have had to start taping my mouth closed. I buy and recommend the orange hy tape with the zinc oxide glue. Never have dry mouth anymore, but occasionally the seal on the tape leading to mask leaks.

I never thought I would have to resort to that but I have to try something

Chin up strips are less extreme, with the same result.
I have cut my own to fit my little face.

Don't think of it as a permanent thing, I tried it for a few months and now get away with a chin strap.Twid wrote:I never thought I would have to resort to that but I have to try something

Try a product called Xylimelts. The manufacturer will send you a sample -- just pay shipping and handling. Sorry if this sounds like a commercial.

It's a non-sugary lozenge that has a sticky side that adheres to your teeth, so you can have it in your mouth while asleep without concern about choking on it. It lasts for several hours. It's a bit pricey at typically $9.99 for a package of 40, either mint or mint-free, and not all drug stores carry it.
Finally, if you're a Buffalo Bills fan, Jim Kelly endorses it.

Then again, he and the Bills lost four Super Bowls in a row, so that's not the best endorsement.... :-\

Re: Dry Mouth
I've started to get horrible dry mouth lately which has caused me to abandon therapy for a while. I've always heard the term dry mouth, but I have never experienced anything like this. It wakes me out of a dead sleep and my mouth is so dry I can't swallow and have difficulty breaking. My teeth have become supersensitive and I've got death breath.
