Good Kniight420s machine

Post by bibs4jc » Thu May 10, 2007 10:09 pm

I am trying to find a book on how to set my programs on my machine.
I am out of town and my machine is acting up and not working right and I can not seem to get the right settings. and when I turn it on after awhile it automatic turns off. I hate this machine and would love to get a different one. I will be out of town for a few more days can some one please help.
thanks.

bibs, if you go here:

http://www.cpap-supply.com/Articles.asp?ID=130

and scroll to the bottom of the page, where it says:

"Setup Instructions for Common CPAP Machines"

and click GoodKnight 420G

that Provider manual should have essentially the same instructions as for the 420S machine you have.

As far as I know, the only difference in the 420S and the 420G is that the "S" records hours of use (compliance) and the "G" records more data. The way to access the clinical menu and the pressure changing instructions for both those machines are the same, so that manual should give you what you need.

Just to add to RG's help, I had a 420S & understood it is the model that records nightly detailed data & it is the G model (general) that only doesn't (compliance only ?).

The detail on how to access the menu is the same for both.

Good luck

You're absolutely right, dsm. I had the S and G backwards. Thanks for the correction.

I had to go check - it is rare for you to make a slip & I wasn't totally confident I had recalled it correctly - with so much detail & so many machines & masks, it amazes me you recall as much as you do

Cheers

maybe they changed it since I owned mine, but the 420S I owned didn't record any detailed sleep data at all with Silverlining, only basic compliance info similar to what you got with the old Classic Remstar Pro. The G model doesn't offer any information not even compliance.

The E model is the only one that records detailed data.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Yeah, apparently they did change things since then. Anyway, here's a sentence from cpap.com's product page about the more basic "G" -- a mention about upgrading to the "S" and what data the "S" records:

"If just feeling better isn't enough, and you want to actually see the results of your therapy, try upgrading to the 420S. This version will detect and record any residual snoring, apneas and hypopneas."

Interestingly, cpap.com carries a model called SP instead of the S. The SP does not have a separate sensor line. And the reviews I read on the product page for the SP seemed to indicate it might be a pretty quiet machine.

The first 420E I had was a bit noisy with a very definite revving up/down sound while I breathed. My next 420E was practically silent. Luck of the draw.

A very old thread to append to, however, your doctor's right. If you're determined to stick with the machine maybe somebody here can help you. Call this a 'bump'.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

What machine do you have?
You found your way to a GoodKnight thread so I am assuming that is what you have and if that is what you have I think you probably need the SilverLining software
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/purita ... ng-36.html

Unfortunately that software was discontinued along time ago along with the machine.
I have no idea where to get it or even how use it.
