New machine to me
New machine to me
I have been watching craigslist for a while for a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset, well I found an Elite for 200.00(which was ok with me) one state away. Had a talk with the gentleman, set up shipping and I got it yesterday. To my surprise it was the Autoset(only 900 run hours), I'm a happy dude. Waiting on hose to show up now. I will use my S9 as my travel/backup now. There are some decent deals out there, just gotta keep watching.

Good deal!!...was thinking of rolling the dice on this "autoset" that looks to be either an Aircurve asv but more likely an Aircurve auto or some other aircurve model....I mean it doesn't look like an airsense autoset.....for $350....

Re: New machine to me
In most cases, you will be able to use the old hose with the new machine. The only caveat is that heated hoses will work as non-heated hoses, but otherwise you'll be fine.knothead wrote:I have been watching craigslist for a while for a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset, well I found an Elite for 200.00(which was ok with me) one state away. no, dunderhead, heated hoses for another model *won't fit*.D.H. wrote:The only caveat is that heated hoses will work as non-heated hoses, but otherwise you'll be fine.
why, oh why don't you keep your trap shut about things you know nothing about?

And maybe erase the prior users data to start fresh, check all the settings, and happy snoozing on a great purchase!

That looks just like my case for my autoset but definitely doesn't look like the machine.
I actually saw that on Craigslist and can't believe you posted it here. : ) Small World?
I am in Florida too and new to CPAP but finding it very important to my recovery.
I have to go back for follow-up at Cornell in Manhattan next month and I might be up there for a month while they run tests. I will be staying in Queens when not at the hospital and so thought maybe I could/should pick up a machine up there?
I am totally confused as to whether I should take my new machine that I got in May this year. (airsense autoset) or if I should try to get a machine up there? I will be traveling alone but will be strong enough this time not to need a wheelchair. However, I still am not supposed to lift more than a loaf of bread. (I was kinda eviscerated and put back together)
So the less I have to carry with me the better! I still am not sure how I will pull of a carry-on?
I simply cannot believe how quickly I have shifted gears from not even wanting a cpap to now wanting a back-up or to
"protect" my machine? I don't know if I am thinking right about this or not?
Maybe I should just bring my machine and if it gets damaged buy a new one?
The soft case sure doesn't seem like it will offer enough protection during travel.
If I were leaving in a few days I'd be in a complete panic.
...but I have a little bit of time to figure this out.
However, I have been searching old posts and can't even figure out how to tell how many hours are on a machine.
Even mine? It's tough be slow and a newbie.

Began XPAP May 2016. Autoset Pressure min. 8 / max 15. Ramp off. ERP set at 2. No humidity. Sleepyhead software installed and being looked at daily, though only beginning to understand the data.
Re: New machine to me
Perhaps the flight staff can help with the carry on. I usually stow mine under the front seat, sometimes up top if it isn't too crowded. It shouldn't get broken. If the cpap helps with the recovery, but have one handy.
I'm pretty much nonfunctional without mine, so I have to take it everywhere.
There are quite a few Airsense Autosets for sale down here in Florida, and probably up there in NY, too.
Not sure how to check the run hours on the Airsense. Maybe hit the button, turn to the "info" screen and hit the button and turn the knob a couple of times? Not sure. I haven't graduated to the latest models yet, so I sill use the Resmed s9 and i just hit the 'info' button and turn the knob twice to get run hours.
Backups..yeah, gotta have at least one back up. 2 backups, 3 backups...well, that's up to you.
Hope you have a speedy recovery!!

It could be either any of the Aircurve models OR an Airsense 10 Autoset for Her. Why not ask for a photo of the front of the unit? Looks like it could be a great deal!klv329 wrote:Good deal!!...was thinking of rolling the dice on this "autoset" that looks to be either an Aircurve asv but more likely an Aircurve auto or some other aircurve model....I mean it doesn't look like an airsense autoset.....for $350....

Yes, you're right. I didn't look close enough at the photo.palerider wrote:looks more like an aircurve than the as10afh,paprt wrote:It could be either any of the Aircurve models OR an Airsense 10 Autoset for Her. Why not ask for a photo of the front of the unit? Looks like it could be a great deal!
Re: New machine to me
I could be wrong, they're both a light color, but I think that it looks more like the vague metalicish of the aircuve than the light decorated one of the as10afh, but someone with one of either would be a better guestimator...paprt wrote:Yes, you're right. if it is an aircurve, that brings up the question of "which aircurve is it? s? vauto? st? asv?" (it's not the new ST-A because that one has a black frame on back.) if they think it's an 'autoset' it might be an air10 vauto, which would make it an even better deal

Re: New machine to me
i'd say its an aircurve because it has the shiny front plate and there are no flowers in the upper left (in the second and fourth pictures) as there would be in an airsense10 for her.
The ASV i would be looking for are too few in number relative to the vauto and other aircurve models, just tossing it out there if someone is interested in pursuing it.
a picture at a similar angle of the airsense10 for her looks like this with the flower design in the upper left corner where the top meets the face:

nice catch. that also shows the as10afh is white, rather than silvery quite nicely.klv329 wrote:i'd say its an aircurve because it has the shiny front plate and there are no flowers in the upper left (in the second and fourth pictures) as there would be in an airsense10 for her.
