AirSense 10 - can one change cut off time?

Post by JimW159 » Sat Aug 27, 2016 12:19 pm

Q: With the AirSense 10, is there any way to change the time at which it stops recording use for a session? To clarify: I often go to bed late and sleep past noon; the AirSense 10 displays data only for that period beyond noon. When getting up my practice has been to check the night's specs; if I only see numbers based on the most recent time beyond noon, sometimes only a few minutes, I don't really have complete picture. I know a day has a beginning and an end, but I would hope there would be some way to encompass the full sleep period and not chop it up. For those who work nights and shifts, I think this could make their interpretation of the data more useful - and accessible.

Any input will be appreciated.

Side question: in Sleepyhead, the term "Clear Airway" is not defined. In my case it also seems rare; should its relative absence be of concern? Should it be less rare and does it critically impact other numbers? If so, what does it signify and how can that number be improved?

Clear Airway means that breathing wasn't obstructed, your brain simply didn't send the signal to breathe. This is what most people think of when they think of apnea, a person that stops breathing. Having it low is a good thing since CPAP really doesn't treat it. If it was high special equipment would be needed.

Set the clock ahead 2-3 hours.

I guess I could pretend I am tucked up in a cozy cottage in Ponta Delgado, Azores - having been there a few times, it could be worse.

The clocks in Resmed machines can be set by the user, so setting the time ahead is an easy solution.
The display only shows the time in setting mode, so no problem.
For day-sleepers, this should be available on all machines.
Mike1953, you might be thinking about altering time on existing data--which is not permitted.
The clock can be reset on your S9 as well.

'clear airway' is a term that respironics made up instead of the industry standard 'central' to refer to an apnea where you're not trying to breath.

SH was originally written for respironics, and the programmer's kinda lazy, and uses a mishmash of respironics and resmed settings and terms for most things.

as far as the day split... I don't ever look at the machine, I just look at sleepyhead data, and there's a setting to change where it starts and ends the day, I set it to 6pm. that way my times are right on the charts, and the sleep sessions are all together.

Wouldn't it be better to set the clock back 2 or 3 hours?

eg. Real time = 1pm. Time showing on machine = 11am. (Machine will display the full night)

I remember waking up at 12:03pm. The data display was not very useful! It did correct itself on the MYAIR website display the following day.

The cpap day ends at noon, whatever it is set for.
If you normally sleep 2 hours after noon your time, then "noon" needs to be 2 hours later.
Setting the clock back is the right idea.
The machine will not alliw you to turn the clock back past the end of the last session,
so you may need to wait until late or do it in steps.

I agree with setting the clock accordingly as most machines consider any time after noon as being sleep related to another night.

As is usual here... put serious requests for information out there and you will get serious information and real solutions in return. Thanks on both questions.
