Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset power light super bright

Received a new machine Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset and in a dark room the power switch on top is a dim green but when I turn on the machine the power light goes super bright white for 10 seconds. There is a light sensor I believe but why the power light goes full bright white each time you turn it on in a dark room. It just wakes up anyone in the room after your bathroom break.

No clue but if it is a bother then you can always lightly place some duct tape over it block put the light

Tape a piece of paper over it or a Post like a flap so you can lift it up for operation... blue painters tape doesn't leave a residue BTW.

Wow, those are some light sensitive people! I have never noticed the bright light, but maybe that's because I have my AirSense mounted on a shelf below the level of the bed so that any condensation drains back into the water tank. I never see the machine until the morning when I reach over to turn it off and observe the nightly totals. When going to sleep, I just put my mask on and start breathing. With auto-on, I never even need to look at the machine during the night.

But, sure, some thick tape over the light would work. Painters tape, electrical tape, duct tape - any non-clear tape should do the job. Although do note that the display comes on briefly too whenever the machine goes on and off, but I guess that that isn't bright enough to bother you?

Note--the lights go completely off during operation.
I never noticed a super bright light; in fact the display is too dim to see
unless the bedside lamp is shining into the sensor.

Do you mean when you pause it for bathroom breaks in the middle of the night? You're right, itis annoying that the screen lights up super bright for a few seconds, much like a cellphone screen. Lucky me, my husband is not bothered by it ( I wish I could say the same about his cell phone screen when he checks the time in the middle of the night).
The Post-it solution might be a good idea, as it is easily removable and doesn't leave adhesive behind. I might try it myself.

A small piece of carefully cut-to-size duct tape may do the trick. You will need to be careful that the button still functions correctly.

I used this trick to cover a very bright LED light on my bedroom air conditioner (Daikin). You may still be able to see the light in the darkness of the room, but it will be much dimmer.

My husband is bothered by that light, because it's usually accompanied by me thrashing around in the bed to get comfortable after sitting up and reading for a while on my dimmed iPhone. He's a really light sleeper! I often get a remark like "Are you still reading on that thing?"

It IS bright, despite the ambient light sensor that is supposed to make it dimmer. If I remember I put a pillow in front of it for the few seconds until it turns off, but I usually forget.

I keep my machine in a cpap nightstand. Once I push the button, I shut the door and never see the light until I get up.

BTW, there are apps for your phones or tablets that will change the color and intensity of the screen backlighting on your device depending on the time of day and night. For example, on android, check out the first couple of rows of these results:

Maybe people think that they sleep better if they don't have the daylight colored light shining in their eyes before they turn off their device for the night.
