Johnny's said he's going to implement more effective measures in a few days. Johnny's got integrity, so it seems a good bet that the changes will happen as stated. I'm OK with that and I'd hate to see the board deteriorate in the meantime.
Like all of us, Johnny doesn't have unlimited resources to deal with this problem. I'd guess that Johnny pays by the minute every time he has to have changes made to any part of his website. It seems like Johnny manages his existing resources wisely, so I figure a few more days of zapping spam isn't going to hurt much.
After a few more days . . . we may all be bemoaning the good old days when it was fun to come here and whack spam.

I'll just bet though that if you were running CPAP.com you would be frugal with your expenses as well. Johnny gets to run the business the way he sees fit. He's stated his choice. You've stated your's, and I've stated mine.
Life is good. I'll get to take up some of the slack that you and others have carried since Johnny implemented spam whacking, and you'll get to take a break for a few days.

I vote to back off the Johnny bashing and give him a chance to handle the problem in his own way at his own pace.
Some here feel obsessed to criticize for the sake of being a JERK.
I voted to stop zapping the spam for a while and let it stay there for others to get an idea of the problem.
No good for some who have no life except to hit the reload button and zap it as if there was a reward for the most zaps.
I stopped it and so can YOU.
Some need to GAFL and stop whining.
Let Johnny do his job.
